Flying out Saturday 19th March and looking to bring musical instrument(s) back with me. Can anyone confirm whether the 6% (?) Florida sales tax applies to used goods. Any of you done this before?

Don't know the answer to this, I'm afraid, but I do know that you don't pay Florida sales tax if you have the goods shipped back home.

Welcome to the DIS, btw. :wave2:

if its from a shop it will be 6% private sale no tax

If you buy the (used) goods from a store and take the goods with you, you will pay the sales tax.

If you order the goods and have the goods shipped to you, you will not pay Florida sales tax if the clerk writes up the transaction properly.

For goods shipped to another country there may or may not be a credit against VAT or sales tax for the sales tax paid to Florida, depending on the country.

The All Star resorts are in a different county from the rest of the parks and resorts, and the sales tax rate is slightly higher.

I recently ordered some things from Disneyonline and received a customs / tax bill last week from the carrier.
What I paid was still worthwhile as I couldn't buy the things over here, and they were in the sale, but the customs bill was about two thirds of the actual parcel price  The carrier was DHL. :wizard:
