Need opinions on Maronda Homes or Bergoon Berger Builders!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bergoon Burger has had some problems in the past, but I haven't heard of anything recently. My mom has a home built by them and never had any problems.

I really don't know much about Maronda.

Personally I would recommend Holiday.

I think we have Maronda homes here in Jacksonville. Haven't heard anything good or bad about them.

Both builders build homes in my area (Brevard County/Melb.).

My uncle built a Maronda home about 12 years old. He had some major problems with faulty construction during the first few years and vowed to never use them again.

I know a few people who have built with B&B and have known nothing to be wrong with these homes or with working with this builder.

Haven't heard of B&B.

A friend at work built with Maronda and had problems.

My husband and I looked at a Maronda community while house shopping a few months ago. First of all, they don't deal with real estate agents at all, says it keeps their costs down. Also, when you go look at houses, you are looking at the actual houses that people will be buying. We picked the model that we liked and then were told which lot numbers had that specific house. Depending on how far along construction is when you decide you want that house, you may or may not be able to pick colors, cabinets, etc. Isn't that part of the reason for building a brand new house? The thing that put us over the top was when the lady showing the house told us she'd rather us pay a cheaper house so we had money left over for flowers and landscaping then spend all our money on the house we wanted. What?! We left and never looked back.
