Florida residents how often do you go?

We are too far away to be regular visitors. It takes 8 hours to drive from here to Disney. And we own a gas guzzling truck. We do buy seasonal APs and try to get at least 2 trips out of them. We only go in the off season. We actually leave on Friday for a 9 night visit. Since we come from so far away I like to stay for a while. But I won't run from attraction to attraction. I'm good with wandering and doing what looks like fun at the moment. I am into the double digits for trips to WDW so don't really feel the need to rush.

My husbands friend lives an hour and a half away. We had dinner with him here in Atlanta a few weeks ago and I asked him how many trips he'd made to Disney World or Universal this year.

He hasn't gone to Universal at all and only went for 3 days so far this year to Disney World and that was only because he had friends visiting. He said he doesn't have any plans to go again at all this year and probably won't renew his AP.

We go 6-12 times a year, usually for 2-3 days, and often last minute. I am also considering not renewing our APs. The difficulty in getting ADRs and FP really detract from the experience. I can wait in line, but we do like to sit down to a nice meal once a day. They also block out so many days on the residents 3 or 4 days tickets it makes me think they don't appreciate all the money we spend going down so frequently.

Although I've lived in FL my whole life, we've only had FRAPs for the last 2 years. We live about 2 hours away, and we go at least 4-5 times a year, not including any day trips we might make. We usually stay offsite for a weekend, especially if it's a long weekend when the kids are off school. We haven't gone during the summer, and I don't suspect we will do that very often in the future - it's not the heat that keeps us away, but the crowds. We do enjoy staying on-site, but we can get a 2BR/2BA full kitchen suite VERY close to the parks for half of what we'd pay per-night at a deluxe. We're considering adding on the water parks when it's time to renew, simply because it would be nice to do that during the summer. :goodvibes

I'm in Miami, and we go 1-2 times a year, usually during the fl resident 3 day ticket promo period. We used to live 1.5 hours away and visited 2-3 times, but we also had annual passes to universal and we would go once a month to there.

I know people who live/lived in the Orlando area.

From just brief conversations with them and Facebook posts, it seems like most of them have annual passes and go several times a month, but it may be for just an afternoon or evening. When you live that close and have an annual pass, it can be as common as going to the movies or the mall for them.

My brother and his family moved down to FL just over 2 years ago. They live about 20 minutes from property. They go all the time! They don't worry about ADR's, packing a small, soft sided cooler works better. They don't worry about FP+, they get what they can get, in which ever park they decide to go to. They usually only stay at the resorts when we come to visit, and then it's just for a night or two.

We're about 15 minutes from Disney. We go at least twice each week and usually do Universal on Saturdays. We usually go once during the week with friends after school and we're home for bed time by 8. Then we usually go to a park on Sunday mornings so that we're home by noon or one. We'll go more often now that Food and Wine is starting because we love the concerts. We don't typically spend the day at Disney, just a few hours. We love FP+ because we can use our three fastpasses and then head home if we want. For us, FP+ works better than the old system. With the old system we wouldn't get there in the afternoons until 4:30 or so. Most FPs were gone by then. And if our friends got there before us they had to wait for us to get there before they got a FP so we could get one together. Now we make them in advance and we can make them for all our friends at once!

Now Universal, we normally head there for a couple hours but it always turns into an all day thing. Last week we got there at 10 am and did't leave until after 9. For some reason I just find Universal more relaxing lately...and since I pregnant I can barely ride anything! I just follow DH and DS around, wait in line with them and then sit in the nice air conditioned rider swap areas!

We have Disney and Universal APs and soon we'll have Sea World and maybe Legoland since both offer teachers a free pass.
