Florida residents how often do you go?

We are in florida for a few months for work and we got annual passes and have gone around 12 times and are disney'd out. We will be taking a break and plan to go back maybe in a month. I was just wondering what other FRs did.

Since FP+, we don't go. Just the thought of having to plan my entire day almost to the second, and then standing in long lines at every attraction we don't have a FP for, have taken their toll. It's not the Disney I remember from the 80's and 90's. Too much planning involved for a simple eight to 12 hour day. We have AP's that we've used a total of once (maybe twice?) this year. We might try to go during F&W, but our passes expire in early December. Obviously, we're not renewing.

We only manage once a year, but sometimes twice as long as one of them is short. 2014 and this year are "2-trip" years. We also live in the western panhandle, so not really that close.

If I had more money, I would go more often. lol

We have been doing two a year. We go in March and October. Next year it will be 3 or 4. March, June, October and hopefully in December.

Granted we only live 3 hours away, but it still takes time to get there. :)

I live in Orlando and up until the time they got rid of Off Kilter and Mo'Rockin', I went to Epcot at least twice a week. Now I will only go if there is a concert in the American Gardens Theater that I want to see and will go see the Osborne Lights one last time. Won't be renewing when my pass expires.

I've been going since 1972... about once a year (except 3 years overseas) and now only go twice a year. We use the Military Salute tickets and stay onsite for 2 days.

My sister moved down almost exactly a year ago. She planned to get APs for Disney, US/IoA, Busch Gardens and Sea World and go frequently. She has no APs and hasn't been to any of the parks yet. Everything costs more than she expected, traffic is heavier than she expected and by the time she gets off work she's just too tired.

Depends on how close you live. We're 2.5 hours away and go for about 3 days every month and a half

Did she move for the parks?

I'm in Miami so I'm not that close but I manage 8-10 trips a year,I was actually doing more shorter trips about 10-15 years ago but between gas prices and just getting tired of doing the drive I lowered the amount of trips but stay an extra day or two when I can.I've also been mixing my theme park trips with running races, for example this next running season I'm doing more Central Florida races(along with the Disney races).I have the Disney seasonal and the full APs for the Universal and Busch/Sea World parks which works for me.

My front door is almost exactly 150 miles from the TTC, and we have seasonal APs as well as Universal APs. We go fairly often, usually just an overnight. However, we do plan longer trips - I think we spent 3 days around the 24 hour event, and next week we're going for 5 days. Of course, there are days when we just need a Disney fix and drive down for the day.

Specifically for the parks, not really. She was bored and frustrated here where we live and I think she basically had a mid-life crisis, thought Florida would be the cure and left 6 weeks later. She had all these plans of all these fun things she would be doing, including going to all the parks after work and on weekends, and the reality is much different.

Oh gotcha. Yeah I guess "real life" tends to follow you wherever you go.

We live 2.5 hours away and go 4-6 times per year. We do some weekends during the year (especially four-day weekends since we teach). Then we do a week before Christmas (the 19th-24th is not so bad for crowds). We also do a week at the beginning and sometimes the end of summer. We have the Florida resident annual pass.

we're in Florida, over by Tampa, about 1/2 the year. We go at least once a month while down in Florida, often for an overnight w/2 park days...occasionally 2 overnights w/3 park days. And very occasionally we just make a day trip. We actually love fastpass+ for these short trips...time which parks to visit and book what we really want to do and just wing the rest of it. Sometimes we just do 3 or 4 things and then just shop & relax. Or we'll go and do nothing but shows. Been doing it this way for about 5 years now and not bored yet. About 1/2 our trips we have adult children visiting from out of state...when that happens we book all the fastpasses for them to use and hubby & I just people-watch and do the attractions that never require fastpass (we go during all the slower times of year) We also have Busch Gardens annual passes...only go there 2-3 times a year for a day each time. But the advantage at Busch Gardens is the pass pays for itself with far fewer visits --basically if you go twice, and have to park a car, the annual pass pays for itself.

I spend at least 1 day a week playing in the parks, but I rarely stay all day - I'll show up at rope drop and stay until noon or so, have lunch, and head home.

Sometimes I bring a change of clothes to work and stay after I get off my shift - I'll be doing that more now that Food & Wine is coming! But I usually work early in the mornings, so I can't stay late into the nights. I haven't seen a fireworks show live in person since I moved here. :(

we go over for a 2-3 day trip once a month and we go for 2 weeks in July and 2 weeks for Xmas/New Years. We live exactly 51 miles from the TTC. I also take a lot of day trips to Epcot alone just about once a week maybe. So my AP is money well spent.

This is off topic, but this summer the woman checking us into POR was surprised that we live so close and were staying on property for vacation. She made the comment "if I lived so close I definitely wouldn't waste my vacation on Disney". The comment kind of stunned me because I wouldn't think a CM would want to discourage anyone from taking a Disney vacation.
