Florida Resident Requirements

A family member is retiring to Florida part- time. They are purchasing a home, but will only live there continuously from Oct-April, about 7 months/year. Would this qualify for DCL Florida resident rates, during the months they are living in Florida?

Yes if they have a Florida utility bill in their name they will qualify.

They qualify Any month... by owning and having a fla license OR just abillin their name. It’s not like they get residents rates Only when they r here... ie. they can get fla annual etc

I just read DCL's posted Florida residency requirements for the first time. I didn't realize until now that only 1 adult per cabin needs to be a qualified Florida resident for everyone (in same cabin) to get resident rates. Interesting.

It also listed the proof options as:

• Florida Driver's License
• Florida Identification Card
• Florida utility bill with Guest's name and address
• Florida voter's registration card
• Renter's lease agreement

Note: a property deed is not considered acceptable proof of residency​

That is my question — my mother is a FL resident and I am not. Can she book a cruise with the FL resident discount and I stay with her ? Or do all the parties in the room have to prove residency?

Just one person in the cabin has to prove residency but all get the discount.
