My sister and her family are going to visit her mother in law this summer in Florida. She wants to try to do a couple of days at Disney. Can her MIL purchase tickets for my sister and her family with her FL discount? Where can my sister find the FL resident prices to compare the difference? Thanks for the help. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

No, you must show proof of residency to use/activate the FL tickets.

I'm pretty sure you just have to have a FL resident ID to purchase them. I don't know how many you can get with one ID. I do not believe you have to show ur ID when you use them. That would create quite a jam at the turnstiles going in if everyone using those tickets had to get out their FL ID. However, I don't know for sure.

Sorry, but you will be asked for your Florida ID at the turnstyle.

Thanks everyone for the answers. WOW. I cant believe that you have to have your ticket AND your license out to go through the turnstyles at Disney's Gates. I dont believe I ever remember seeing people do this because it seems like it would hold up the lines, but you guys from FL ought to know. Thanks again and I will pass on the info. to my sister. :earsboy:

She may purchase the childs (3-9) tickets, but not the adult tickets. They will not ask for an ID for the kids.

They do NOT ask for your Floirda I.D. at the turnstiles. When you purchase your Florida Resident ticket you then show your I.D.

My MIL is a FLORIDA ressie, and visited us on property in 2003. She bought a three-day pass in our resort, and NEVER had to show ANY TYPE of ID, etc., at the turnstiles!!! Even on the initial day she activated the pass (by merely passing through the MGM turnstile!).

Can you even IMAGINE the amount of chaos this could/would create? Some people do not even BRING any form of such ID into the parks, other than their "KEY TO THE WORLD" room charge/key!!

While I have not been asked for a FL ID at the parks, my DB needed the ID for his play 4 day tix LY and Both DW and I needed them for our AP's. When you purchase FL passes your name is printed on them, while you may be able to use a pass (unused) purchased by someone else, chances are that they will not be able to purchase adult tix without a valid FL ID for each tix purchased.

ID is only asked for at time of purchase or if there is a problem getting the ticket through the turnstile.

You are correct, it would cause chaos. I was in a hurry when I posted and meant to type the word MAY instead of WILL. If there is a problem they MAY ask for the Florida ID. I am also a Florida resident and yes, I have been asked. As has my husband when he had trouble with his pass. Just passing on my own personal experience of what MAY happen.

As for people not bringing ID. I think it's very foolish for any adult not to carry ID on them unless there is a valid reason. I can't imagine leaving mine at home/in my room for any reason :).

No, not all CM's at the gates will ask for the Florida resident ID, however they all reserve the right to, if a guest doesn't have it, they are sent to Guest Relations to upgrade to a regular ticket until they have the proof of residency at which time they can take the ticket back with the ID and the difference will be credited.

It is the job of the CM's who sell the tickets to ask for proof of Florida residency in the form of a Valid Florida DL,Valid Florida State Issued ID, Valid Florida College ID, Valid Voter's Registration card with secondary picture ID or Military papers stating that the guest is stationed at one of the Florida Military bases, along with valid Military ID for anyone who is an adult (17 years old or younger).
