Florida Resident prices vs AP prices

We took a year off from APs but will be purchasing them again mid-February. In the past, I've usually gotten our resort reservations using the AP discount. Since I don't have access to that right now, all I can see on the reservation website is the Florida resident discount.

Is the AP discount better or the about the same as the resident discount? Is there any way for me to see what the AP discount would be before I have it? If I go ahead and pay for the APs, will I be able to see the discount before I activate the APs?

Also, if I go ahead and reserve the best deal I can find with the Florida resident discount, will I be able to switch it to AP discount if that turns out to be a better deal?

Sorry, IDK which discount would be better (although I suspect that the resident discount will be the best of the two).

As long as you are switching from room only to room only or from a package to a package, you can always change to a better discount if it is available.

Knowing the AP discount prior to having an AP requires a call to CRO, or at least that has been the way I managed to get the info in the past. Alternatively, if you post here, someone with an AP may look it up for you! :-)

As both a resident and an AP holder, I can tell you that from what I've seen, the discounts are typically within 5 percent of each, with availalibility a little better for residents. My next trip is to WL, and IIRC, I was able to book AP for $15 less than the resident rate, for example.
