Florida Resident Pass Question?

We will be going in Oct. and have purchased our tix at
DS with the Club card. My question is what is the best ticket for a Florida resident?

We will be bringing Grandma with us (who lives in St. Pete) and I need to know what FL pass to buy her. When I was there last month, I asked the CM at the Disney Store what the Disney Club discount was for a FL res. and she said there wasn't one. Help!

The only passes that get discounts is the AP's....My mom was able to get DC discount in the past...I'd check on that again...

But unless your Grandma is planning on returning frequently you might want to check when you get there what pass specials they might have for FL residents....

Florida residents pay the same price for park hoppers as everyone else. We do get a discount on Annual and Premium Annual passes. But, the truly unique bargain for us is the Seasonal Pass. With blackout dates from mid-June to mid-August, Christmas week and the week prior to and after Easter, it permits roughly 250 park days a year (if you have the wherewithall to use them.) Best thing is that it costs less than $200 and pays for itself in just 4 park days. The only drawback to this pass is that it does not include free parking (like the annual does.) However, that's a non-issue for us since we always stay on-site.

Also, we (Fl Residents) have access to Disney Dining Experience. It's a discount card that costs $55 (for seasonal or annual passholders - $60 otherwise) and gets you 20% off all table service restaurants and many resort food courts. That one pays for itself in a real hurry. And, if you paid for parking at the theme park, you can get it refunded when you dine using your Disney Dining Experience card.

You can ask if they have a FL Play4 special at that time. These went up to $109 last time. It covers 4 days of park hopping between certain dates. Only for FL residents. I am hoping they have one soon, or we will get seasonal.

Has anyone heard whether or not WDW will be offering the Florida Resident Play 4 Days pass soon. I will be visiting in May. We have used them in the past, and love them. Last year, they came out the second week of January, and could be used until June. Have not heard anything. I keep calling the CRO to no avail. :) :bounce:

is offered twice a year.....Sept-November and Jan-Feb. I have gotten them during these times.;)

gcurling- Does the Disney Dining Card ONLY work for the FL resident, or is it good for all members of the dining party? That one sounds especially good.

Thanks for the replys on the ticket, I'll have to keep my eyes open for either pass option.

Disney Dining Experience is offered only to FL Residents for membership. However, the member can have the 20% discount for up to a party of 6. Alcohol included, Yippee!

They didn't offer the Play 4 yet for 2003. Maybe if this war thing impacts WDW the way it did after 9/11, they might offer it again soon. I'd rather have a miracle with a peacefull resolution, but it doesn't look likely. Either way, I'm not going to be scared away from WDW. Let's support an American tradition!

Eljay-Thanks for the reply "Alcohol Included" thats great!! You've also prompted me to put on Slade.:D

They have not offered Play4 this year. 2 years ago we got one that was good during the summer so the dates vary from year to year. I was at the Disney Store yesterday and the CM said they are getting lots of calls from others wanting them. She thinks there will be one soon, but who knows. I think they will try to lure FL residents as it is easy for us to go on short notice:D , too easy in fact;) ! If they don't offer one for our next planned trip, we will get seasonal and end up going more often for a year.:p

I bought play 4 day passes for myself and my DD (18) last fall and we used them in November. Then I found out I could get a seasonal pass (with the DC discount) and they would take off the price of the play 4 days pass. So for around $80.00 each (not counting what we had paid for the 4 day pass) we both got seasonal passes. It is good for a year from the first day we used the play four days pass. So now we don't have to buy passes for our 2003 fall trip!! We just have to go a little earlier. We may even make a few short trips in between! (not may, we will!!):bounce:

gcurling-do you know if the 20% off for the dinner card is also good at all the character meals..thanks

I'll jump in & answer - YES! Almost all sit down table service meals on the WDW property are 20% off. I used it for the Storybook Princess Breakfast at Norway. The only exception I found so far was the Japanese restaurant in Epcot. The restaurant list is on the official WDW website. You'll have to surf a little to find it. I LOVE my Disney Dining Experience card, I have saved a fortune! :smooth:

Another DDE perk-
if you drive to the resort you're eating at (whatever meal it is), you just have to show the valet parker your card and you can valet park FREE! Just don't forget to tip:p

I know Slade did Run Run Away originally, but my little tribute is to Off Kilter - the fantastic Celtic rock band at Canada in Epcot!
(Sorry about the thread drift, back to original business at hand...) :smooth:
You can also use the DDE card to get 20% off of your bar tab at the Rose & Crown, no kidding!
