My mother and step dad have a home in Venice but only my step dad has residency in Florida, my mom has residency in Michigan. My mom , daughter and I are going to DW next April and I was wondering if we could get a better rate as Florida resident. I told her I wasn't sure and she thinks it would be right because she pays half of the bills down there (second marriage.) I wouldn't even think of trying if it is not right, just wondered what their criteria actually is. I don't like him well enough to spoil us girls good time at DW because he doesn't like it like we do, so we wouldn't be taking him just to get a better rate. Sorry so long.

To get the florida rate @ the resorts, the person who books MUST have a valid florida ID or driver's license. Now if you want play4days tickets for WDW @ the florida rate, whoever uses the tickets MUST HAVE VALID FLORIDA ID.

Hope this helps! :smooth:

That's what I was thinking. My mom said why not have her husband make the reservation, but he would also have to show ID at check-in. Not worth it to us to take him. Thanks for the help.

Glad I could be of help. here's an idea though... if they have a house in venice, why not change dl's to florida when you come down? it'll cost $13 per id, but saving a few hundred is worth it in the longrun!

If you're suggesting that thumpersfriend change her license to a Florida one, I'm not sure that's such a good idea.

However, her mom might want to look into getting a Florida ID card with her Florida address on it. That would meet the requirement for the Florida resident discounts.

yeah, I didn't clarify myself enough... I should have said ID card, not Drivers License:D

It's like a driver's license, but it's just a picture ID card. I think you get them at the same place as DLs.

Also if she has any of the utility bills with her name on that that is supposed to work also..

My husband and I are Florida residents. I wanted to get the 4 day passes for my DD and DSIL when they came down and was told that THEY had to be Florida residents.
