We want to purchase Florida resident APs in May 2015....but obviously I want to be able to book FP in April. If we buy the Florida resident AP's online now, do they start now or do they start the first time we go into a park with them? If they don't start until we use them, can we still make FP at 30 days?

I know the "day" tickets don't start until you use them, but I'm not sure about the APs and specifically the Florida resident APs. I know for the resident we have to show proof that we live here, which we have, but not sure if that means they start right away.

1. do they start now or

2. do they start the first time we go into a park with them? If they don't start until we use them, can we still make FP at 30 days?

1. No.
2. Not exactly. They start when you go to a WDW Guest Relations or ticket booth and "activate" them by showing your residency proof.

Yes, once you "order" the APs in advance, you are eligible to make advance FP+ when your date arrives.

All tickets, even APs, start the day you use them. I don't think this will prevent you from booking FP+ so long as the ticket has been purchased.

We have been FL res pass holders in the pass and hope to be once again soon. This is how it was always done before.

Thanks Robo....ok, so I buy them now and they'll show up in my MDE so making FP at 30 days will work?

The APs don't start until activated at the guest Relations. I bought my FRAPs months ago & made my room reservations & all my FPs for next weeks trip & won't activate mine til we get to Epcot. I also bought mine at my AAA office for a discount.

We are thinking of getting a AAA membership.....how much a discount on FRAP's do you get? Might be the push point to help hubby make that decision.

Only "AAA South" offers WDW APs.
That branch of AAA only serves certain southern states.

If you are in FL or the other states served,
just Google "AAA South Disney Tickets"
to see the prices.

I tried that....got the AAA South website....click on Annual Passes and it wants me to log in....to log in you have to provide your AAA card number. Which I don't have because I can't convince hubby to get one yet....we just moved here, so I want one for the security of a tow if the car breaks down since we don't have the plethora of friends willing to come rescue me we had in our last state. I'm kinda hoping that the AP discount will be close to the same cost as the membership so it would be a "wash" but I'd get my AAA membership.

Hoping the PP who specifically said they get the discount will chime in and say "we saved x". If it's $10 it won't convince him but as I said if the discount covers the cost then I can justify the membership to him.

Mousesavers says that it is more than $20.00 per ticket for Annual Passes and Premium Annual Passes. Our seasonal pass savings was about $5.00 per ticket. Call your local AAA.

If you want tow insurance the ticket savings shouldn't matter one bit.

Well "I" want the road service but hubby isn't convinced we need it....our van is 3 years old and we've only had two incidents...both flat tires and both times I just called a friend to come change it for me. But now we are in Florida and I don't have quite the friend chain yet, lol.

I logged on to my AAA account. A FL resident AP adult and child are both $459.99 plus tax.

Thank you! It looks like the APs are about $25 cheaper going through AAA.....so for our family that's a $100 savings, which would pay for our AAA membership. THAT is what I was hoping would happen....now it will not be an additional bill for us.....I can get my AAA coverage and pay for it with the savings from the APs. Win - Win....I get my coverage and hubby doesn't have another "move to a new state" expense to stress him out, lol.

You're welcome! We moved to Florida this year too, so I completely understand!
