I did a search and read alot of posts, but am a little confused. Are there discounts you can get with the annual pass that you can't get with the florida resident rate? We are closing on our Kissimmee house next month and want to buy Resident passes, but want to make sure first. thanks!

Your question confuses me! :)

If you're referring strictly to room rates - I think the Florida Resident rates and Annual Passholder rates are generally about the same.

However, there are other discounts on merchandise (10% off at the World of Disney, mainly) and a few others that I think are annual passholder discounts, only.

If you are talking about the Florida Resident annual pass as opposed to the Florida Resident seasonal pass. There are some differences. Included with the annual and not with the seasonal is park parking is included, unlimited admission to Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Disney Quest, and Wide World of Sports.

I think the discounts on food, tours, Golf, and merchandise are the same. Sometimes annual pass holders can pick up limited edition pins at the parks for free. There used to be a free magazine sent through the mail for the annual, but I believe that has been discontinued.

Of course the pass perks change at Disney change all the time. I would check the official disney site for updates or go to http://www.allearsnet.com for the latest FL resident pass info. Any changes to the passes are generally effective Jan 1 and stay the same for a year. So if you buy a pass in May any changes to the passes in Jan will affect your pass. Not your free admissions, but special perks and discounts.
