Florida People: Anyone Get An Early Wake Up Call?

Did those nasty thunderstorms wake you up last night? I'm glad we FINALLY got some rain but could have done without the dramatics at 3 a.m. It was pretty intense for a while.

All my newly planted veggies look very happy out in the garden this morning and, once this clears out, the rest of the week is looking terrific!

I was just getting to bed at about 1:00 am and saw a flash of lightning. I was awakened by thunder and pouring rain hitting the windows and roof a couple times during the night, but it was one of the sweetest sounds I've heard in a long time. I think there might be more on the way today, I really hope so. That drenching was good, but we've got a long way to go to make up for our deficit.

I've been having some health problems due to allergens in the air, and hopefully this rain really washed alot of it away!

And hopefully it will give the a break!

Our storms moved in about 9:00 pm. I swear I thought I could hear the yard drinking in the water. Another one that is hoping the rain washed all the allergens out.

I really thought the storm would be worse but was very glad for the rain.

Nothing down here in South FL, but I was sound asleep anyway! But no signs of any rain from last night either. Too bad, we really need it!

We didn't get any rain last night either. I love the dry weather and sunshine, but tired of having the sprinklers on all the time $$$. When everyone in the neighborhood has them on in the morning I have zero water pressure in the shower.

DD and I were on our way home from Universal at 12:30 am. We'd gone over to see Heart in concert. I was totally surprised when I saw lightening. We got home just before the first wave came through. I immediately gave the dog a pill (he's afraid of thunder) and went to bed. The dog slept great. I was awake a good portion of the night. However, I was really glad to get the rain!

Big light show but hardly any rain. Local news says some areas got up to 2-3" of rain but my rain gauge says we only got .08". I was hoping for a lot because we don't have a sprinkler system & my grass is crispy!

Lots of rain, thunder and lightning....my DS is totally fascinated by the weather..he stayed up to watch the storm....glad we got the rain, suppose to get more today...

We haven't gotten any rain yet but it sure is thundering like mad. We are expecting the worst weather here in South East Florida this afternoon, our weather radio said severe thunderstorm warning until 7pm.

It's so crazy to hear thunder, we haven't heard it in SO long!

One good thing about having this stupid cold, the night time medicine knocked me unconscious. Although I did the rain pouring off the roof and digging a hole in the ground outside my window. My GF however was kept awake all night with the unscheduled "Wishes" performance.

Well I was out VERY VERY late last night, so I was in Winter Haven in an IHOP(which is a whole different story) having a very late night snack when it hit. DH and I and our friends had to drive back to Lakeland in it. Was a pretty nasty one. In my town, there was a house fire due to lightning strike. Very sad. It was very pretty to watch, and my lawn was flooded when I got home. Went to bed at 5am, and it was still raining. It was all over by 7:30am though when I got up for work though. Yes 2 hrs of sleep. Hanging on though

Yep, got that early wakeup call! Fortunately, it blew through fast-only laying there for about 10 minutes counting the seconds between flashes.

Everything's looking colorful today...and both hibiscus trees perked up after that rain!
