Florida Non-Residents - Ever Want to Move to FL?

Well it looks like we are moving and I really don't want to, although I'm trying to look at the positives. Too much traffic, congestion, urban sprawl, etc....but we'll make the best of it. I told DH first order of business is AP's but he swears I will get tired of Disney. Boy is he in for surprise.

I live about 15 mins from the parks. Our area is surrounded by farms and orange groves. I feel like I am in the country but very close to everything. It is nice and peaceful here.

I really want to move to FL...most of the time when we were on our vacation, my boyfriend kept saying, "we really have to think about moving down here." We are both really young, no kids, so I think we should do it now...if we don't like it (though I can't imagine that) or if we want to have kids near our family, we could always move home!

So is it true, most jobs in Orlando are service jobs or tourist focused?

I'm working on getting down there. I've had it with these winters and my family is in the south, so the goal is to get within a direct flight to them. Hurricanes, humidity, urban sprawl, tough employment market--nothing I haven't seen before. I'm ready to trade in my laundromat-going, no car, no a/c, subways-that-smell-like-pee existence.

Never mind that whoever just said that about this being the first we've seen sun in about eight months wasn't exaggerating. I thought I'd overslept big-time the other day when my room was full of light! WHAT IS THAT GLOWING THING?

As far as tiring of the parks goes, I kind of look at it like Broadway. I love, love, love theater and I love Broadway, and it is within financial and subway-riding reach. But I don't do it every single day and it's still amazing when I do.
