Florida Marriage License?

DD is planning to get married on Castaway Cay. She said that they have to sign the license the first day because they will be in Florida. Now how do we go about getting the license and for it to be legal because we are from Ontario, Canada?

From what I understand, if you are getting married on CC and live out of state Disney will take care of getting the FL marriage license. If you are a FL resident and are getting married on the DCL or CC it's your responsibility to get it (as with my df and I).

So you should be covered!

as I understand it, if you get married on DCL, you have a ceremony in Florida so your marriage license will have THAT day..the day you sail as your wedding day

This is what happens, (I don't know if it matters that you are in another country or not) They send you a piece of paper that you fill out and then you fax it to Disney they give it to a vendor that they hire and they send you the form typed. You take it to the notary and sign the paper with your DF in front of the notary and send it back to the company. You then wait until you board the ship. Once on the ship you will meet with your wedding coordinator before the ship leaves dock. You have a civil ceremony right on the ship while it is docked in port canaveral. The person that is in charge of marrying you is an associate of Disney and they have your license. They actually give you a really nice really quick ceremony (vows and all) and they have the witnesses sign the paperwork. They give you a photocopy of the license and you wait for an original copy in the mail. Hope this helps.

Oh and if you don't have a witness, they supply really nice witnesses for you that will even take pictures!
