How true. I've got neighbors who won't take their plywood down. It's the weirdest thing to see, all these boarded up windows.

LOL. At least they are prepared for the next one (which hopefully won't happen).

One business guy on the weather channel said he had saved his plywood for ten years! So, keep it in the garage in the rafters!!

That's funny. bad, but funny.

Yup, thats my neighborhood!! Most of us have not taken down all of our plywood just in case. Most are getting pretty creative too. Our next door neighbors wrote "trick or treat" on theirs. The only good point is it keeps the house very cool inside so we are saving $ on A/C!!

We took down our plywood yesterday, but the neighbors on either side still have theirs up. My house seems really weird and light wtihout the windows covered!:sunny:

The red cross served us our last hot meals today and our boil water order was lifted today so there is no more free ice and water. I sure like bagged ice!

Many houses around here still have plywood covering their windows, there are some neighbors that have had theirs up since Frances.

Personally, I don't care if we have to do it every weekend, but I couldn't take the darkness and trapped feeling with all the shutters down. Actually, by the time we prepared for Frances, we had the whole preparation process down pat. DH said, "Wow, we are getting really good at this". :teeth:

Trola, we are you located? Has the power been restored in your area? I'm guessing that you are in FL's Panhandle.

Our next door neighbors wrote "trick or treat" on theirs.

That's funny!:teeth:

Ritaz, yes, I'm just north of Pensacola. We were *only* without power for 9 days. Most of the people in our area have been restored if they could be. Many homes are too damaged to restore electricity although people are still living in them. Very sad. Being without power is a character building exercise! :rotfl: We're still pulling downed trees out of the yard, but just think of the landscaping opportunities we will have next spring!

I noticed your first tag...Rockapella...is that referring to the group that sang on "Where in the World is Carmen SanDiego" about 10 years ago?

Beth, that's sooooo true!::yes:: We were without power for 3 days during Frances and that was bad enough, but I still feel that we were very fortunate. Don't want to go through that again.:scared1: We did have severe tree damage during Frances and the work was finally done last week.

The Panhandle was hit very hard, I know that it's much worse than what the pictures have shown. :(

Yes, that Rockapella! Are you a fan too?:teeth:
