Florida Fires- Is smoke a problem there?

We are heading to Disney and Universal next Saturday. On the news this morning, I heard all about the fires in Florida (even near Sea World). Is this something I should be worried about? Can you smell the smoke in the air? Is it hazardous to small children? My DH says I am being nuts but I wanted to check with you guys. Thanks

It's bad, but not as bad as 1998.

No smoke in the Diseny area yet. Universal and Sea World area had a fire last night, but the good news is its raining right now......see the other post.

yesterday c f p was closed due to a fire by sea world the smoke was in universal park and sea world if you go to wesh 2000 you can check it all out with the live traffic cams they go all along i4 and you have live updates all the time

The fire near SeaWorld was relatively small compared to the really big brush fires which are east of Orange County. There really hasn't been any trouble with smoke in Orlando.
And yes, we woke up to rain this morning (yay!) and there's a good chance of rain for the next 4 days.

I had read somewhere that Disney was not using pyrotechnics at Cinderellabration due to the dry weather. I just hope that they don't start cancelling fireworks!!

For those geting ready to visit, just be aware it could be hazy.

I'm 3-4 hours south of there, and I can't stand to be outside right now, it's so hazy and making my eyes burn, but this is due to more local fires/smoke not the ones up that way. But in the past the fires in Central Fl. have bothered us down here.
