Hi all! I'm off to Florida in 2011 and was hoping to get some recommendations as to hotels in International Drive! In particular, I am interested in the Rosen Plaza Hotel.

Additionally, I was curious as to the state of the All Stars Resorts in WDW - are they ok or a bit tacky?

My fiance and I are from Tampa and try to do Orlando weekend getaways every month or so.

We tried the Disney "budget" hotels (POP and Music) and had terrible experiences at both, including a mystery "substance" in the sheets at POP.... never again!

As far as hotels on I-Drive, all the Rosen properties are fine, although geared more towards business. If you are flexible as far as location on I-Drive, I'd highly recommend utilizing Priceline. 4* in the Seaworld area almost always turns up the Peabody for around $60/nt, which is a real steal. If you do opt to stay on I-drive, I would stick with one of the more upscale, "trusted" brands, such as Crowne Plaza, Sheraton, Embassy Suites, etc. Some of the lower quality properties tend to get really run down in such a highly visited area.

Have stayed at the Rosen and found it clean etc but nothing special.

The All Star Resorts are basic but still give you that Disney feel plus you get all the benefits of staying at a Disney property
