What does it feel like to live in the same State maybe even the same County.

How much does it cost for one of those resident passes and does that mean you have unlimited visits for one price?

Hi there,
I have an annual pass. I paid a deposit of $80 and pay $25 per month. I go to Disney on average 3 days a month. To be completely honest it feels amazing to live so close. I love being able to come and go as I please. Sometimes going spur of the moment or just go to dinner. I have grown up around Disney so it seems completely normal to me.

DH and I are annual passholders and we do try to get over there at least 2x a month. My sis recently just became pass holder and she wants to go every week. We have worked it out to try and go once a month just her and me. We live about 30-40min away so it is really just a hop jump and skip away.

I agree with PP it really is amazing to be able to just pop over for couple hours. We are really blessed.

I have a work-friend who lives in Celebration and his family drops over to have a meal at WDW when they feel like it! I can only dream of that type of availability

We live 1.5 hours away and go, on average, 1 time a month - some months more, some months we don't go at all. We used to have Annual Passes, but now we have Seasonal Passes since we never went during "block out" dates anyway. Often we do day trips, but sometimes we stay over (usually off-site because we can get such nice hotels using Priceline). When I lived in Orlando we went every other week, sometimes just for dinner, and even more often when we were planning our wedding.

Lived in FL all my life... half a dozen day trips as a kid (only to MK) then a trip w/DH while dating in 2006 then our 3 year anniversary there Dec 2009 and 2 more day trips and 2 overnight stays in 2010 with my seasonal pass. I'm 2 hours away and planned on about 4 more trips before my pass expires next month, but I'm pregnant and due in less than 7 weeks, so I can't ride coasters and the drive is very unappealing now.

I moved 30 minutes away from Disney in July of last year. I became a premium annual passholder as of October. In these past 5 months I have been to Disney more times than I have ever been in my life. We usually go 2-4 a month at least depending upon whats going on. I am excited to see new events like Star Wars Weekend and have experienced my first MNSSHP and MVMCP.

This weekend I am volunteering at the Princess Half Marathon. I'll be at water stop #9!

Next weekend I am doing the passholder event to ride Expedition Everest after hours!

I truly LOVE being an annual passholder and living this close to Disney.

Everyone around here told me I would get sick of it, but I haven't yet.

Moved here Labor Day 2010. Our place is 7 miles (about 15 minutes) from MK. We bought annual passes at the end of September and have averaged 2X/wk since then. I go more than DH because he has a full time career, I'm still looking Just this morning I saw Bill Nye was going to be at EP, so I hopped in the car, saw his presentation twice and came home. It's great to be able to do that, but the feeling is different than when you've saved and anticipated and can immerse yourself in a WDW vacation.
Can't complain though, I love being close by.

We were an hour and a half from property. We typically got our AP's or Seasonal AP's in cycles. 1 year on, one year off was typical. We only bought the AP when we had at least 2 park visits over the summer planned. Since we usually preferred to stay on site, we didn't do enough day visits to warrant the free parking.

With AP's, we went whenever the mood struck and we had the budget for the tolls we paid and anything we wanted to do.

I am very much missing that right now.

I live 4 hours from Disney and go 2-3 times a year.

Florida Resident Tickets work basically the same way as other tickets, except the most days you can purchase is 7 instead of 10. There are several different pass options too. The tickets are generally around 30% cheaper and we can the hopper and WPFM options for $25 each.

I have a seasonal pass, which entitles me to park hopping at the 4 major parks, during most times of the year. Black out dates are New Years, Easter week, mid June - mid August, and the last 12 days or so of December.

We live about an hour and a half from Disney, and probably go about 5 times a year. My dd is a seasonal cast member, so I won't invest in an AP until she has moved on- its too wonderful to go for free.

We do have season passes for Universal, which my husband prefers, and Busch Gardens/Sea World. We like the concert series that they both do.

We love being in Florida for more than just being close to the parks. We love that we can play tennis in January, and we love how many outdoor events and festivals they have in Florida at this time of the year.

When people ask me why I love Florida, I tell them: "I used to go out to go in- go out to dinner, or a movie, or something else indoors. Now I go out to go out! "

I am about 1.5 hours from the parks. We have Seasonal Passes. We generally go for one longer vacay (maybe 9 nights) and a few long weekends a year (not always onsite). We would definitely go more often if we had the time.

We like to travel elsewhere too, so it is very nice to be so close as it keeps the costs involved lower. If we lived out of state and our trips also had to include the cost of airfare/rental cars, etc we probably wouldn't go as often because those vacation funds would be earmarked for other places.

We live a bit further away - 6.5 hours, in the Florida Panhandle. It's far enough away to make it still exciting to go, but close enough that it's totally affordable. Some years we have the Seasonal Passes (with black-out dates as another post mentioned) other years we take advantage of the special Florida Resident or Military discounts (my husband is a Reservist). This year we have the Seasonal Passes, as we'll be taking a weeklong trip in May. Our SPs were about $210 per child (buying on the military base) and $250 per adult. That's cheaper than a 7-day park-hopper and we get a whole year of fun! With those passes we're eligible for the AP rates on rooms and merchandise and at some restaurants, too.

Our travel budget to get there is one tank of gas for my van and lunch at McD's or BK in Perry, FL - less than $100 each way for 4 of us. Then we park the van and use Disney transport during our trip.

I love being able to share the excitement and magic of Disney with my kids!

The last estimates for attendance in WDW showed that MK had 17 million visitors, Epcot around 11 million and DHS/AK around 9.5 million in a year (many visitors go to multiple parks so those aren't unique numbers of visitors, just attendance). That's 17 million people from every state and every part of the world. The state of Florida alone has over 18 million people.

This is a board for people who like Disney so when you see posts from people who say they go X amount of times a month they are part of those 17 million visits, which cuts down on actual people who go there. The reality is that few people in Orlando, much less Florida itself, spend much time in any of the parks. That is why parks try to entice them with discounts.

We just got seasonal passes again but a few years ago we literally went 2 weekend a month. We lived a very carefree like then.

We are planning on going a lot this year but not monthly or weekly like we use to.

We are 2 hours from Disney.
