We have them now but it is a federal plan. I also had them when I worked before I married DH. I have never had any issues with them and they seem to cover everything that I need/want.

This is because you don't pay for the plan OOP. We had individual coverage and it really depends on the plan. The last plan we had was terrible. We were downright lied to by the agent and they only sub out selling policies through agents (3rd party). We had other plans we paid a lot more for that were better but in the end we still ended up paying way too much OOP for our monthly premium vs. healthcare expenses. (the best plan we had was actually from BC/BS of Minnesota which I had through a company I worked for some years ago)...

At this time we are covered by dh's company's plan (UHC which is so much better but still not cheap), but we may eventually have to shop around again!!

I so understand what the OP is going through as there are not a lot of options especially in FL. However as bad as BC/BS of FL was there are many that are worse.
