Florida 14 day quarantine

Hi Florida Disers -- Do you know if the Florida 14 day quarantine is still in effect? We are flying down from Massachusetts through the Connecticut airport to go to the Beach Club June 2-9. Nothing from Disney has been cancelled yet (included our Cirque Show Dreams tickets) but I don't see anywhere online about the quarantine being lifted. And how does that work? Does TSA escort us to our resort and make sure we stay for 14 days? A little confused right now. Any knowledge you can share would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I would think Cirque will have their own policy for cancellations or reschedules, since as far as I know they aren't part of Disney and can operate under their rules for Springs, not the rules for Parks/events. Perhaps others know more.

From what I read from one person someone comes on the plane and makes you sign a contract saying you'll quarentine for 14 days and some other things. I'd check with the airline to see if this is still happening.

Yes. It’s apparently in effect until the governor says it is not, people are hoping when Phase 2 starts he might drop it. The order threatens people with fines and jail time for noncompliance. Idk if they follow through.

Apparently the National Guard meets you coming off the plane if you’re coming in from what is deemed to be a hotspot state (even if all you do is connect in that state), get your info and give you a piece of paper telling you to quarantine for 14 days. So theoretically you would go to your hotel and not leave for two weeks.

Yes. I’m laughing too at what a waste of manpower that effort will be if touristy stuff is open. The original intention of it was to stem the flood into FL vacation homes when this started so hopefully they will have deemed that a completed operation soon.

It’ll be in effect until things (Mainly theme parks) open that would help by having tourists. The executive order could be dropped immediately upon DeSantis making the announcement. Currently the only states that prohibit travel without quarantine are NY, CT, NJ, and LA

Can You Switch To TF Green In Rhode Island. I'm from Cape Cad and plan to fly out of TF, Aug 30. Rhode Island has restriction on inbound travellers, must quarantine for 14 days.

The order is that if you have been in any of those states in the last two weeks you are to quarantine, even if you aren’t specifically told to do so.

But I leave in Mass and am just getting my flight in CT. If I switch to RI I can't drive there yet. They are also quarantining out of staters. I guess I play the waiting game!

Thank you. We haven't had an official Disney cancellation but I am expecting it!

Could you fly out of Logan? No out of state travel required and MA isn't included in the FL ban.

I was looking at all this when I thought my May trip might happen, as we live in MA and usually fly out of BDL, too.

They haven't as of yet cancelled anything in June, FYI. That might change but nothing has been cancelled yet. OP, I would try to transfer through a different airport to be safe!
Edit: Sadly they started cancelling stuff today.

I will be flying in from New York State in September . Hope that restriction is gone by then! And I live no where near NYC so this restriction ticks me off. it should be focused on the bad areas, not the whole state thrown in the bucket.

I didn't realize there was a quarantine from people arriving from CT? I have direct flights from BDL/Hartford on 6/25. I assume it will either be a non-issue because they don't open or hopefully its lifted with PH2 reopening of FL.

Yep. They slapped the label on the whole Tri-State area because of NYC. And did it to Louisiana.

Hi, you've got the answers already but I will give you a breakdown, I worked at the airport with the Fl health dept doing these screenings, if they are in fact still in effect when you come this is what will happen:
you get a questionnaire on the plane and fill it out before you leave the plane. You fill out your name, address, flight number, if you are here on business or pleasure or you live here. If you are visiting you need to give your flight number for your return trip, if you don't have that just leave it blank. Then you must provide an address and phone number for where you will be staying. Then you sign and date
National guard will check your details and then another person gives you a paper reminding you of symptoms to look for and telling you, you must self isolate for the next 14 days, they tell you to go straight from the airport to wherever you are staying
Someone will call you several times during the 2 weeks to check up on you
If you are due to leave before the 14 days, that's fine
NOW
this is on a "trust" system. The state of Fl is trusting everyone will self isolate. If you are caught not self isolating there is a fine, but they really can't track you other than the phone call
I agree that this will probably lift before parks open

MD is not included in the self isolation requirement, only NY,NJ,CT and LA
