OK...who's in with me? It's race week!!
:bounce:

For those driving, have a safe trip; same to you flying people. I leave on Thursday, and I can't wait! Last relatively hard weekend of training is under my race belt...dialed it back a little because of being a little under the weather, but I hope to be 100% for race day.

Just need to do some last minute mechanical stuff on the bike, and then it can get packed. Will try to remember the ponchos and bug spray (thanks to the DIS). For the Sat. meet at WL...hopefully I can find some lime green to wear...but I'm sure I'll find you all, and I'm looking forward to it, though I'm likely to be a little spazzy with the race the next day.

My friend that's coming is now thoroughly scared of TOT...but I'll make sure she gets on it. We are going to Donald's Breakfastosaurus, too...hope that's fun. I chose a non-early entry day...is that the right strategy?? Let me know if I need to change that.

Rental car is booked. I have my handy driving directions I got from the DIS for my March trip.
YAY!!! I guess that's it! Oh...need to call and get my Disney Rewards card updated, so my shopping (i.e., my pal mickey that I think I want) is free! Guess it would make sense to rent PM for a day to make sure, eh?

Any other triathletes (or their SO's), please check in!!

Ironz,
Have a fun, good race! I'm very impressed and jealous. I would love to do that race, but can't go next year and wouldn't have been ready for this year. I would have to evolve from runner to triathlete. Oh, someday.

Good luck. Trust your training. Have fun! Let me know what you think of the race and how you did.

What is the route for the race? I would be anxious to hear about it afterwards. Is it on Disney property?
Good Luck & stay cool!!!

ironz what are the distances of the event doing a sprint this summer for the first time. would consider it next year.

thanks for the encouragement!

This race is a 1/2 Ironman, which will basically be centered around Fort Wilderness: 1.2 mile swim in Bay Lake, 56 mile bike going off the WDW property onto roads north of the WDW complex, 13.1 mile run at FW and the nearby golf course. This particular race doesn't go through any of the parks.

For those of you budding/busy triathletes out there, WDW has 2 other tris: the Danskin sprint tri (for women only, 400 meter swim, 10 mile bike, 2 mile run at MK) was last weekend (and is usually in May) and WDW is putting on an Olympic distance triathlon in October (1500 meter swim, 24 mile bike, 10K run). Or buckle down and train for this 1/2 Ironman for next year!!

This is a new race for that location...hope it goes well!
