Anyone preserve their bouquet? I love the idea of it but it is very expensive. I am so looking forward to my bouquet and I still have the first flowers that DF gave me. I'm just thinking how many things can I really keep and hang on my wall  If you did do it, did you use the company Disney suggests? Was it worth it? If you didn't do it, do you wish you had?

I didn't do it and don't regret it. I feel the same way about it as I do about freezing the wedding cake: I'd much rather have a NEW re-created bouquet/cake on my anniversary than a dried-out shadow of the original. :rotfl:

I couldn't agree with you more!! I just plan on taking lots of pictures of my bouquet so I will always have the memory (and nothing to dust! LOL).

There was a cruisebride awhile back that had clay flowers They are supposed to be very durable and look beautiful. Since I plan to do cruise wedding and I want to do park pictures I thought it would be a good idea so as not to have to pay for floral twice. I'm also not really in love with what they offer on the cruiseline for floral.

Just an Idea. I think you have to ask yourself what you will do with your flowers if you have them preserved.

I did get my flowers preserved using the company Disney recommends - Keepsake Floral. I did a shadow box and it was about $480. For me it was worth every penny. Nothing could replace how beautiful my flowers looked the day of the wedding but they did a great job with the shadow box and I don't regret spending the money at all. We didn't do any other keepsakes like champagne glasses or a cake cutting/serving set so this was my big splurge. You'll get varying opinions on brides thinking it's worth it or not but you need to look into it yourself and decide if it's something you really want. :thumbsup2

Yes, the clay flowers were beautiful! They were yellow and blue, if I remember correctly. I looked at them on Etsy (just search clay flowers) and they were not outrageous. I would have gotten them if I decided to do park pictures.

The cruise line offers flowers that are hearty and won't die before the wedding since they have to be refrigerated for a day or two... there is a tropical mix, all colors of roses, and calla lilies too. I think you can look at some of the choices on the DFTW website.

there was a thread at one point with pictures of the preserved bouquets from Keepsake Floral. I didn't do it, and I really wish I had. At the time it seemed really pricey and I wasn't sure it would go with the decor in our home. I also wasn't counting on loving my bouquet as much as I did. I figured we could just dry out the bouquet but it ended up looking terrible. If you didn't want something on the wall they do smaller arrangements and jewelry boxes or ornaments. I really liked the look of the arrangements that used the flowers but didn't exactly look like a bouquet.

Thanks all for your responses. I'm getting married on Saturday so my bouquet is picked out and I'm very excited. I'm going to check out the website again and maybe do something small - or just go with pictures. So many decisions, so little time :upsidedow

You could check to see if there is anyone in your area who does it. I was going to go with Keepsake, but then I found someone here in Richmond who does it. She did a beautiful job for a third of the cost. Mom took my bouquet home wrapped in wet paper towels and in a Disney plastic bag and Mary met her at the airport to get it from here. I don't regret it for a second!
