Flonase side effects...

My doctor just started me on it and I am SO tired, but drowsiness is NOT one of the side effects.

Anyone else tired from it? Maybe I'm just coming down with a cold and it's just a coincidence that it's starting the same time I'm starting the flonase :confused3

Just thought I'd see if anyone else had the same thing happen to them.

I use it every day and feel no side effects at all. Good luck to you.

My DD used that for quite some time with no side effects. In fact, it was because she did have side effects from oral allergy medicine (moodiness, being tired) that we switched her to the spray. Sounds like you may be getting a cold. Hope you feel better soon!!

Thanks! I read that people switch to it because it doesn't cause drowsiness, so perhaps it's just a cold coming on. Not that I want the medicine to make me drowsy, but I sure don't want to be getting sick.

Thanks for the quick replies!

The only problem I have with it is I tend to get a sore throat after using it for more than 3 day in a row, never had any drowsiness.

You got me scared. I've been on it for a few weeks now, but I haven't had any side effects.

No tiredness, but it gives me daily headaches. Then again I have super sensitive migraines so I don't think it's too common. After a few years my DS started to get nosebleeds from it and the same thing happened to a friend of his so I'd suggest going off of it when your nose is fine and only going back on it when allergies act up. I know the Dr's say take it all the time but once the nosebleeds start up that sensitivity never goes away and then you have nothing else to take because you get to a point you can only use the stuff a week before you bleed. I wish someone had warned me about that for my DS.

I use it during the high-allergy seasons and I've never notice drowziness from it.

I used it for well over a year with no side effects. That was great for me because it seems like I get a side effect with everything. After a year, I started getting KILLER headaches behind my eyes and after a few weeks it just occurred to me that it might be the Flonase. I quit using it and, sure enough, the headaches stopped.

yikes, the headache side effects scare me because I get migraines. My doctor put me on the flonase because I've been getting a lot of sinus headaches due to fluid behind my ears and she said that the allergy meds I'm on now may not be cutting it, so to try this.

Guess I can't win :confused3

i take two squirts per nostril every day, and i've never experienced drowsiness

DS14 was on this for a while and got such bad headaches he stopped taking it. Keep in mind that just because it is listed as a side effect doesn't mean you will actually have that side effect, it just means that during the clinical trials, this is what OTHER people experienced. If you have been on it for several weeks and haven't had side effects, you are probably fine.

Those steroidal nasal sprays always give me side effects so I never use them for long. I get burning in my nostrils, sore throat, heart palitations sometimes, etc... but I am sensitive to a lot of medications so I just deal with the allergies as best I can.
