I saw that i can rent in advance floats and tubes for Castaway Cay. Is it something that they ran out of or can i just wait there and rent them as needed?
Both times that I've been to CC there were plenty of floats. Just go to the big pile of floats and give them your stateroom number, I think it cost like $6 DD and I loved floating in the gorgeous waters of CC! Enjoy.
I "reserved" two floats online and there were lots of them available when i went to pick them up. we did not use them AT ALL but since i'd notice them on my television-view account i felt compelled to at least pick them up in case. if you reserve online you'll be charged for them even if you dont pick them up
Only time we ever reserved was when we were doing a double dip. Instead of $12 ($6 a day), I believe it was $7 for both days. Love to save a buck.
Also, in case someone doesn't know this, if your tube or float goes missing, just take your receipt back there and they will give you a new one free.
This past cruise my DD and her friends left their tubes under the platform while they were up top playing. Lo and behold, the light current actually took one all the way out to the jetty wall. I just went back and requested a new one and they gave it to me. No worries, no hassle!
Just rent them when you reach the island... Or, here's a tip... Sometimes when you givefeedback on a comment card regarding excursions, DCL will give you comps on snorkel, tube, etc. rentals at CC.
bumping this up to see if anything's changed since 2011... are floats and mats and tubes readily available these days w/o reserving via port adventures?
