Floating Devices in Resort Pools

Does Disney allow you to have small rafts or small floating devices in the pools?

I'll take a shot at this because no one else has answered...

Based on http://www.wildernesslodgesite.com/content/pool-rules-0 the answer would be yes. However, I've seen that lifeguards may not allow some items if the pool is busy and their view becomes obstructed. There may be new rules within the last couple years that I am unaware of.

I don't think that is a disney site. No the only floats allowed are pool noodles and sometimes the very small floats for infants.

Life guards need to have a clear view of the bottom of the pool for safety sake.

However, you can "rent" a life jacket for free for the duration of your stay for any child you have that might need it. My younger three all used life jackets last year when we were at Sports, and we just tossed them in the bathtub in the second room when we got back from the pool for a place for them to dry.

"Silver Creek" is the pool at WL.

At the CR pool a couple months ago, we were not allowed to use "kick boards" (i.e., floaties that you hold on to as you kick arounf the pool). Tons of people were using noodles though, as a matter of fact, CR proveded noodles to the guests...as well as life jacket-like floaties.

Interesting that on the sign, it says the "pool area" is for the use of Resort Guests, I had not noticed that before.

Which to me means not just the pool itself but the area around it too.

The only Floats allowed are small floats for INFANTS, noodles or life jackets.No rafts or inner tubes.The pools get crowded and the life guards need to see the bottom of the pools at all times.

Thanks guys. I knew I could count on the DIS. I saw the coolest floating "chair" the other day, it was just a mesh circle "seat" and you put air in the outside circle and just floated around sitting up it wasn't very big.. It looked so comfortable. Good thing I didn't throw it in the cart. I guess I will stick to the noodles....

My sister has that one, she calls it her Papasan Chair. She just loves it!
(No, she hasn't used it at Disney resorts. But I wonder if it would be okay at the quiet pools where there are no lifeguards AND! during a quiet time when there were very few guests in the pool?)

We have one of those that we use at the beach, but not at WDW resort pools.
