I need some advice for the weather in late June-early July. Some many people who go to Florida every year but do not go to Disney say it isn't as hot as you think but I know going to Disney with 4 kids is different. I need to know if the weather will be unbearable for kids under 12. I go to Disney every Spring Break but this year I wanted to try something different!

~Thanks~

I was there until 5/31 last year and I thought the weather was beautiful. It could have turned bad the following week, I suppose. I think you will find nice weather during early June, though :) The temperatures at the end of May last year were in the high 80's low 90's.

You would think a Floridian transplant like myself would be helpful, but we spend just about all of our living time here in A/C, so being at a theme park is totally different!

However, having said that, June isn't a bad month really for hot temps. It's July and August that are blistering and humid! But, as you said, standing in long lines with 4 kids can make your temp go up in and of itself, so it's all relative.

Just be prepared to take things a little at a time and get some respite from the heat and humidity often. A nice idea is to hit the parks early, when they first open, spend a few hours, go back to the hotel/condo for a nap or a swim, and go back the parks later in the day or early evening.

That way you miss the danger zone of the temps and everyone has a break from the crowds! Have fun!

This is how to go to Disney in July:

DRINK-DRINK-DRINK-DRINK-DRINK-REST
DRINK-DRINK-DRINK-DRINK-DRINK-REST
DRINK-DRINK-DRINK-DRINK-DRINK-REST

Repeat as necessary....

I'd rather spend the summer in florida anyday than up here in ky

the ocean helps out big time..

we were down there the first week of june last year and loved it.

I had friends that went down last year at the end of June (right after school let out) and it rained every single day. Heavy at times, they said it helped keep things cooler, but they couldnt really enjoy the water parks or pool.

The last time I went in June, it was the second week of it and it was HOT!!! I must say that because of that last trip, I think I decided that I really wanted to avoid going in the summer at all costs. But if you do go, bring tons of water (cheaper to buy at a store or refill plastic bottles in water fountains) and take breaks a lot if you can. The mister fans saved us from getting really hot in long lines as well.

When we went closer to mid-June a few years ago, my DS almost passed out waiting in line for Dumbo. We had to get him out of line about 2/3 of the way to ride. He was 2, then. It was just too hot. Mid-June through mid-August would be my last possible choice of times to visit WDW.

We usually go to WDW the last week of July. I've done some poking around and figured out that it's just plain hot in Florida regardless of what summer month you choose. We'll be at WDW the last two weeks of June this year. I will parrot the advice to drink GALLONS of water. I let myself get dehydrated once at WDW. It was not pleasant. If you can take a midday break and hit the pools, the kids will be much happier.

It is very hot here all summer and well into Fall!
However, with careful planning you can still enjoy the parks.
We frequently go during the summer and we have a plan of attack similar to what FOJMO said.

Get to the parks as soon as they open...its still pretty warm, but not quite as crowded so you won't have that long to wait in line.
Head back to the resort around 1:00 for a cooling off swim and possibly a quick nap in a very air conditioned room!
Head back to the parks around 5:00 for the rest of the evening.

This works great for us.

Was there last year the first week of June and it was very hot and very humid. The advice of drinking, resting and having midday pool breaks were key for us. Our 6 year old DD was fine. Only once or twice did it get to be a little too much for her and we quickly headed into an air-conditioned shop or restaurant.

Like many others have already posted, it's HOT. We're from CT, however, and when we returned home it was even hotter. So....I'd much rather be hot at WDW than hot at home;) We were there from 6/20-7/2 and the crowds increased as the week went on. It did rain every day, but sometimes for just a short time. It actually worked in our favor at USF because everyone left and we got to go on many of the more popular rides.

We're going again this year, but in August, so I guess the heat didn't bother us tooooo much;)

We went to WDW last July 3rd for a day before our cruise. I woke up here in Boston around 3:00am and my house was already over 90 degrees. My make up was melting off of me as I dried my hair.
We arrived in Orlando around 10:00am and it was beautiful...not nearly as hot and humid as up north here. We even called home in the evening and all my family could do was go on and on about how unbearably hot it was up here, while we had perfect temps down there. I think anything can happen. ;)

We went last year in mid-June and it was hot, but not horrible. There were rain showers in the middle of 3-4 days.

DH and I also went in the middle of July a few years ago and it was horribly hot and humid. We still talk about just how miserable we were while standing in some long lines (like a line for Splash Mountain that was 3 hours long!).

And it rained ALL 3 Days I was there, so, it wasn't too hot! Make sure you start out Early and Drink LOTS of Water, I drank 2 24 Oz bottles while in the Park and wore the Cami shirts with straps, and shorts and I was very cool!;)
