Flip Mino

Hey all
Anybody out there have the Flip Mino and, if you do, what do you think? I am thinking of getting one. We don't do a lot of filming but would like to have it for special events. Also, would like to hear anyone's thoughts on the HD vs non-HD versions.

im not much of a video person either....

but i think its fun. the boyfriend got one as a gift from his boss after a big data center move.

we have the non hd version, but im not doing anything fancy with it, so it serves its purpose to us fantastically.

i took a video yesterday at the doggie dip we had here in town....if you were interested in seeing the quality of the videos it makes.

but i think they're a lot of fun to have. and SUPER EASY to use!

Over Christmas I started looking at the Flip & other mini camcorders as I knew I would want to look back at our next WDW trip... after spending an obscene amount of time I bought the new Kodak zi6 mainly because it has expandable memory card slot. It is in the same price bracket & is super easy to use. Not too many color choices........I got the metallic pink one It records beautifully in HD, downloads easy & I now carry it in my purse everywhere I go. Love It!

hey thanks for the feedback too. okay, i'm going to ask a dumb question since i'm pretty low tech....does the expandable memory card slot mean that it has a memory card in addition to the hard drive storage on the camera therefore being able to create more footage? Or, does that mean it has the same storage capacity but you can choice where to store it? Okay, that was two questions.

No worries.........I'm not the queen of tech either. Which is why i did spend so much time looking into it. The expandable memory refers to a card which you can buy separately. When you run out of space on the hard drive (which is easy to do since they all only hold an hours tops), you put in a card. Fill up the card, put in a new one.

It may not be a big deal to you if you're only gone a few days or don't take a lot of video but when we travel......We are GONE. 2 weeks minimum. No computer. So I buy cards.

Wow, I love my zi6 but I almost almost wish I had waited for the 8.....but had I waited I would have missed so much good stuff over summer. Don't think my hubby will go for replacing it just yet.
