I don't know if any area hotels offer park and fly. I live south of the airport and can be there and parked and at bag check with in 30 minutes so no need for hotel.. Anyway I would check the Holiday Inn at the Gateway Center. The Wingate Inn off Hill rd in Grand Blanc. The Holiday Inn Express off Holly Rd in Grand Blanc(this one is about 10 minutes out) All are in a safe area south of the airport. Don't stay north of the airport. The close's would be at the gateway center. Check the Bishop Airport website and click area hotels for phone numbers. Call and see if they provide airport transportation. If non of them do it's very easy to get to the airport and parking is a snap. Take's 2 minutes from lot to inside bag check. Parking is 8.00 or 10.00 per day. Susan

Thank you Susan. Right now I have the Comfort Inn Austin Pkwy? Booked but believe this is the area I dont want to be in. We have a free hotel night at country inn and suites birch run but think it is probably a bit aways for a 7 am flight? Do u know anything about americas best value inn?

I live in Davison, about 15 minutes from Flint. America's Best is not as nice as the PP's recommendations, but TripAdvisor shows decent ratings for it. Birch Run is a very nice area but close to 45 minutes away. Again, TripAdvisor has decent ratings for Comfort Inn as well. I'd check any hotel you want to stay against TripAdvisor. :)

NO you do not want to stay in that area. I would be concerned about the area at night. I don't know anything about the hotel. Birch Run is a ways away but nice area. Huge outlet mall and just a short ride to Frankenmuth. Cute tourist town. I live in Fenton and a Fairfield opened this summer. It would be about 20 t0 30 minutes from there to getting in line for security at the airport from Fenton. It is south of the airport. If you won't mind the 40 to 45 minute drive to the airport in the morning Birch Run is a good choice. I don't know about that hotel but decent area as I said above.

I just realized that the Country Inn and Suites is probably the hotel that you pass as you drive into the outlet mall in Birch Run. There would be several restaurants along the main road. Tony's is a just a little hole in the wall restaurant but worth the stop... You would want to be in your car and on the road by 5am to get to the airport for your 7am flight. This would give you lots of time to check bag go through security and grab a bite to eat even though not much to choose from at the airport. If you have never been to Bishop you will be happy with how fast you will go through bag check and security. We just came back from Disney(drove) and some friends flew Southwest 7am flight from flint and said they started boarding 30 minutes before take off.

Tonys is on our list!! Ok I will cancel Comfort Inn. So if I book the Country Inn right at the outlets leaving at 5 am on Dec 23rd will give me lots of time for a 7 am flight????

It would be about 40 minutes to drive and park. Once you get off the freeway the airport is one minute away. That would leave 30 minutes to check bags and go through security and be at boarding area just in time to board. So I guess for a little wiggle room I would leave at 4:30am. I don't think traffic will be much of an issue but just in case of traffic issue's you would have a few spare minutes. If there does happen to be an accident or factory traffic just get off the freeway at Vienna road or any major road after that and go west. Turn left on Linden Road and follow to Bristol road. Turn left on Bristol until you reach the airport. Bishop is a small airport. It has the friendliest group of airport employee's. Parking at Bishop. I prefer the main lot in front of the terminal. If that is full there is parking across the street with a shuttle. Bishop does allow you to drop family and bags directly in front of the terminal and then the driver can go park.

Ok I think my family would hate me if I make them get up at 3:30 am. We have decided holiday inn gateway or hampton inn grand blanc. Eithier one has a shuttle about a $20 price difference. Are eithier one of these better then the other? Closer to airport and so on. Thx do much. First time flying out of Flint. We are in Northern ont and usually fly from buffalo. So new for us. But couldnt beat the $102 flights and my sister lives in Sault Ste Marie, ont. So a stopover with her both ways.

Never stayed at that Hampton Inn. I would chose whichever gives you the best price. Same distance to airport. leave either and dropped off at airport in like 10 minutes. You will love the convenience of Bishop airport.

The Hampton is very nice and safe. I like the Wingate in Grand Blanc and there is a nice Fairfield in Fenton. PP is correct, do NOT stay on Austin Parkway.
Airport is great, parking is very reasonable. We fly out of there about 3 times a year.
Have a great trip!

Hi, I live outside of Flint. I don't know anything about park and fly but I would recommend you stay in the Grand Blanc/Hill Road area. Or a bit further south in Fenton (that's where we are), it's only about fifteen-twenty minutes to the airport and a straight shot on the freeway. We have a Holiday Inn Express and a Fairfield. Obviously living here I've never stayed at either but I was in the Holiday Inn once as dd's friend had a swimming birthday party once. Seemed nice enough.

Small world isn't it. Fenton resident myself since 1995...

Hi Flint native here. The hotels on Austin Parkway are nice and completely safe. Plus, they are only one exit away from the Bristol Rd exit to the Bishop airport. Austin Parkway has the Comfort Inn, Residence Inn and the Holiday Inn Gateway. All are nice and can be booked without a worry. The area is a a office type community and not a high crime area at all. Let me know if you have any questions, but no reason to go to Fenton or Birch Run.

I always drive in and park in the long term lot across the street and take the shuttle across to the airport. We love flying in and out of Flint Bishop. It is so easy to get in, through security, and to the gates. Enjoy your trip!

Flying from Flint is so easy and hassle free! I consider myself lucky to be able to fly direct to Orlando from Flint.

jb :thumbsup2

I thought Austin parkway was off I-75 and Miller rd city of Flint Mich and that the Holiday Inn Gateway was off Hill Rd city of Grand Blanc...

Just wanted to follow up, after calling many, and checking tripadvisor. I ended up booking the Courtyard by Marriott, Gateway. For anyone else that might be looking. It was $89.00 plus tax, and it is complimentary parking, for up to 14 days. They have a shuttle that runs on the hour, then 20 after and 20 too. 10 mins to the airport. Pretty good deal.
