I am looking at booking our flights this week and keep hoping that fares will drop...

Who knows some of the tricks of the airlines? I have heard that some airlines adjust fares on sunday night/minday morning... others on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning...

Could everyone share experiences that they have had? I have a Sun Country flight picked out, just want it to drop another $25 per person!

Southwest had some very good fares from our area (Northern VA). I got $108 round trip for December! (I had $150 RT and swapped them, so now I have a credit to use). I'd check them out.

There really aren't any tricks. Prices change all the time. You'd do better by registering with a site like farecast.com which predicts fare activity for about a week in advance, or I think travelocity.com has a tool that, once you register and select itineraries, will notify you if the fare drops. Then there's the orbitz.com guarantee that claims if another passenger books your exact itinerary through them at a lower fare than what you paid, Orbitz will automatically refund you the difference.

I used Farecast for at least a month before I bought on SW for my Oct flight down. I opted for United coming home, since their flight was the latest I could get.

While searching, I was up at Midnight on Tuesday, when it turned into Wednesday 12:01am est. and on SW the rates did drop for one of the flights on my day. It was a $15-$20 drop I think, but it was the flight I didn't want. The rate dropped lasted only 15 mins. I hit refresh and it was gone.

For my flight going home, I kept checking each day so I knew what was the highest it had been and if it would drop. I did gamble and wait on a lower fare, but in the end, it never went as low as SW.

It's all a gamble. Figure out what you will pay and keep checking. My rates on both flights went up about $30 for a Friday-Monday period once and I was heartbroken. When they dropped, I bought them!

If you're just looking to book a flight 1 month and 6 days out, that's way too late based on my experience. We've been flying to WDW since 1997, using 5 different carriers out of 3 different airports in the Pa/NJ area. As such, I know what a 'good price' is for a March, Oct., Nov. or Jan. flight and I'll book tickets as soon as I know our dates and a good rate appears. I've booked flights as far in advance as they've come out, 330 in one case, if the price was right. I have no brand loyalty, I'll go with any carrier out of any airport within a reasonable driving distance. Good luck with your search, if you get really brave or desperate you might want to try bidding on Priceline.
