Flights to London

I am starting to look into airfare for my family of 4 for beginning of August. We will leave out of Newark or JFK into London. What is an average price for round trip travel? I saw some non stop flights for about 1300 pp, but i don't know if that is good or bad.

For summer and nonstop that is not horrid. You probably will see a drop however.

I would try asking on more international focused travel boards. Fodors, TripAdvisor, Rick Steves etc

I haven't been in years so the prices are going to seem less expensive but these were the cheapest we got at the time:

Toronto to Heathrow in 2000 (non stop) was just about $700 round trip.

JFK to Heathrow in 2007 (non stop) was $1100 round trip.

Flights will range from ~$1000 and up depending on number of stops, length of stay, etc.

Virgin Atlantic will run specials on flights to London in all classes --check their page. (I LOVE their Upper Class!) But those discounts won't come out until next year.

A quick check shows fares as low as $700--but sorry, I am not inclined to fly Air India!

That is about the average flight cost; I would not expect a big drop by summer. You can sometimes find cheaper fares on Icelandic Air. The problem is the extremely high surcharge added to your ticket price flying into an airport in a Great Britain.
