Flights to Barcelona for $219 one way!!!

They also have a round trip for $415 from Newark in June!

Too bad is wasn't this year because I priced out one ways from NY to Barcelona for the Transatlantic and is was over $2500 one way!! Ended up booking with DCL air as it was much cheaper in this case (and I never book with DCL air)

Just got a notification from Norwegian Air that starting next June they will be flying to Barcelona. A special fare of $219 one way from EWR (Newark Airport, NJ).

Other low fare from some other US cities.

Thanks for the info. Looks like it's 2 days only they fly to Barcelona. But for that price i will arrive early if I had to. Have to keep them in mind next time I go to Europe on DCL.

Wow! That's great news. I can fly to Newark and then over for cheaper than from my home airport!

We flew Norwegian out of New York last June to Oslo, Norway. It was a good experience. We also flew from Bergen, Norway to London, England for a side trip while we were over there for $25/person. Luggage was extra.

wow!! that's really cheap!!!! insanely cheap....
i wonder what their round trip fares are - for our trip to the US next year...
right now the cost for flying 8 of us to the US in the summer is...well......stratispherically high...
hmmm...off to check the fares..

I would be cautious when booking with them though - we booked about 8 months out with Norwegian Air for a trip to Paris this past summer, and then two months later they canceled the flight, as well as all flights to Europe from our city the day before and after. They did offer a full refund if we were not able to rebook on them (which we weren't) so all was not lost, but I would again exercise caution as I've known people who have had this happen to them at 2 months out (and two months for booking international travel ain't cheap!) You get what you pay for after all!

I wanted to add, I read this on another popular travel blog - if you book it in Norwegian Krone instead of USD, even with the conversion, the price will be cheaper compared to choosing USD to book it. You might need to use google translate to make sure you are booking the correct thing lol, but on some of the pricing it was a decent savings. I haven't tired it since the first time I read this the other day but it was at least $80 difference when I did it. YMMV :)

We flew Norwegian Air home from Copenhagen after the TA last year. We had a great experience. We paid a little more for the extra legroom and amenities and it was fantastic. Very comfortable flight.

As far as them cancelling flights, heck I had JetBlue cancel my flight 10 minutes before boarding at MCO last month. If its a pattern I can see be wary but all airlines cancel flights for various reasons. I think it is a gamble on any airline.

I'm happy to hear you had a positive experience with them. We're trying to get to Barcelona in March for a 10-night cruise. Getting to BCN from Denver is proving to be a challenge. I'm looking at Southwest to Boston and then Norwegian to BCN. But it looks like their last flight to/from Boston is the end of March so I'll have to figure something out to get home. Needless to say, I'm watching all Barcelona threads :)
