Why are flights always so high out of Cinicnnati ?

I've been watching for a couple months and the flights from cvg to mco are going up up up beyond what I want to pay.

Do you think the'll come down before we plan to go in Nov. The week after Thanksgiving.

I have checked rates out of every airport within 2 hours of us and they are close to the same cost of $379.00 not worth the difference to drive to another area and for the times taht we can travel the day we want to leave which is the 24th of Nov. There even higher if we would wait and leave on the 25th. I guess it's because of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Yes I'm whinning Boo Hoo !!!

Thanks for listening T

Usually the flights go about 5-6 miles high. It doesn't matter what time of year.

I am going to WDW the week after Thanksgiving, Nov 29-Dec. 5. I booked my tickets in July and had to pay $310.00 for my ticket. I should have bought it about 2 weeks earlier, the price was $20.00 cheaper. I don't know if the prices will come down, especially as it is getting closer to November. I would just keep looking every day and if a good deal comes along, take it.

I feel your pain! All I can say is good luck. I doubt flights are going to drop $$ much. We are flying in October and I searched for airfare for months. It was crazy expensive.

We fly out of Louisville usually and the flights have been really expensive this year. Even SW has been extremely high. I saw Delta back in April for $177 rt direct for a few days then it went back up. Hasn't dropped below around $289since. SW has been the same price. Luckily I hit a Ding fare on July 4th and got our tickets on SW for $167 rt direct each. I was happy as I haven't seen any cheaper before that or since.

But it is September already. I don't believe Delta will lower flights this close to November. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you though.pixiedust:

I'm feeling that same pain! For November, I've got my return trip tickets ($49--could NOT pass it up), but still don't have tickets for the way down! Being I got such a deal, I hate to pay $203 for a ticket! Each day, multiple times a day, I'm checking the website, hoping for a break! Figuring I'll wait until this Tuesday & then just bite the bullet if fares don't go down!

Airline tickets have been terribly under-priced for years, so it will take a big getting used to once we have to start paying for them something closer to what they should cost. $370 is a bit high, from the mid-west, for the most discounted tickets, but at this late date that might be all that is left. You could fly out of Dayton for $240. It's only about an hour's drive.

Indianapolis should be ~ 2 hours from you, so check Southwest and AirTran from there. We're flying from Indianapolis to Orlando on Nov. 22 (Thanksgiving) and returning Nov. 27. I bought our tickets on AirTran in May, and they were $195/pp. There have been some price swings both directions since then, and Southwest had a lower fare when they first opened bookings for late November.

We fly out of either Louisville or Nashville and have noticed the same thing over the past 1 1/2-2 years. SW did have a great ding in May -- $29 from Nashville to MCO. Since then, I've noticed only one other ok one for $49 out of Louisville. I was so excited when Jet Blue started flying out of Nashville, but fares have been ridiculously high so far.

T root i feel your pain!!!!!! I also usually fly out of CVG. I have a trip planned for the 18-22nd of December for two of us. The flight on Delta (because i wanted direct) for the 2 of us was over 800.00. I got lucky and found a direct flight out of Dayton for 470.00 total on airtran! I just hope it doesnt snow! I live in Milford and its about an hour and 15 minutes away! I am a scaredy cat when it snows! Have you checked airtran?

Bicker has some good advice here. [no surprise] Flying out of a nearby airport may indeed be less expensive than out of CVG. I'd check DAY and CMH as well.

I didn't check CMH earlier. I'm seeing itineraries at $280 from CMH, so both CMH and DAY are great alternatives to CVG.
