Do you think we are way too late to get a resonable flight that week from Detroit to Orlando?
I am finding flights averaging at least $400 and with 5 people, I don't think I can do that. It will be over $2000 for the flights.
We are a little flexible with the days and time of travel, but I can not find anything reasonable.
Last trip we took, we paid $200 r/t each. I am willing to pay up to $300. That's what we were hoping for. We are even flexible about where we fly into.
We thought about driving, but that isn't going to work out for us.

I'm sorry to tell you this but I don't think it's going to get any better. We usually fly out of Boston or Providence for around $200 r/t nonstop. This year for President's week I got $325 r/t with stops in Chicago from Boston. A much higher price with stops out of my way.

I have been monitoring this for months and the prices have only gone up.

Good luck in your search,

Joanne

That actually doesn't sound like such a bad price to me.

I haven't flown to MCO during that week since I was a kid. The last time I flew over Presidents week we went from Newark to FLL about 4 years ago and paid $500/pp, which was actually the fully refundable full fare. The reason we did it that way was because DD was under 2 and since we were getting her a seat, they offered 50% off for her but it was only on full fare, so it came out better than any other price we could find (and we have the choice of about 4 NYC-area airports).

That is school vacation here (MA) so flights are typically expensive, which is why we don't go at that time. Good luck. :)

DS has to be there that week for band. We were going to extend the trip. I hope something reasonable comes up.

Not sure how flexible you can be but if you can fly for around $300 Saturday to Saturday that is a very good price for those dates. I use kayak.com. to research flights. If you could go Thurs-Thurs you would probably save some money.

There are flights into Tampa Sat-Sat on United for $284 per person roundtrip.

President's week flights for DTW-MCO can be pretty steep. Use bing's travel search---it will give you an estimate of whether or not prices are expected to get better. Right now, it says to wait for DTW-MCO on Sat-Sat flights.

Has anyone flown ( or heard of ) Sun Country Air?

We can do a Sat. to Sat. but were kind of hoping for a 10 day trip. I realize we can't be too picky though.
