Would love to take a quick budget trip to WDW in March, but I can't find any affordable flights! Do any of you Maritimers have any suggestions?

Thanks!:sunny:

I find WestJet and AC airfare quite affordable compared to last year.

if you wait until early April you can fly AC for 387.00, taxes in. I think the date I checked were April 7-16th. We paid over 500.00 last year. These prices are from Halifax. We go April 6-17 and paid 400., taxes in.

WestJet is offering return fares out of Moncton to Orlando for somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 for that time period. check them out at www.westjet.ca

This may not be an option for you depending on where in the Marimtides you live, but I have also investigated the following options:

1) Fly out of Bangor ($1200 - $1300 Cad for Family of 4)
2) Fly out of Boston (Approx. $880 Cad for Family of 4)

Bangor is a 3 Hr drive from where I live (Freddy Beach)
Boston is approx. a 7 Hr drive.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck

Thanks for the suggestions so far - we have to travel in March, though (if we are able to go at all)...any other ideas?

You can fly out of Fredericton using Delta. It is a little more expensive but you don't have to drive to Bangor.

By my calculations, flying Delta from Fredericton to Orlando would run a family of 4, upwards of $2500...

Worth the drive to Bangor methinks.

As far as flying out of Fredericton is concerned, AC seems to be far cheaper for my dates anyway. I was very happy to see the other day that they(AC) have decreased their prices, as I was seriously contemplating flying out of Moncton. :D

Using Delta is more expensive, but it has advantages.

You don't need to worry about bad weather during your drive. You don't have to worry about long term parking and you don't have to fly through Toronto.

We used Delta this past March and the flights were excellent. The partner out of Boston was Song. We all had in-flight tv and games at our seats to help pass the time.

The only reason AC has lowered their rates is because of Delta. Before Delta started servicing Fredericton, their prices were incredible.

The other advantage is that you don't have to take a road trip and possible extra hotel stays to get to and from the airport.

I flew Delta last May to Orlando and thought they were great. I too loved the Song flight from Boston. Unfortunately at this point Delta is about $200 more than AC.

As far as travelling to another city for a cheaper airfare, I guess you have to look at how much the hassle of traveling somewhere else to catch your flight is worth to you. The short drive to Moncton from Fredericton is a joke, but if I can fly out of Fredericton for the same cash, that will be much more convenient for me. :D

Hello there,

We are planning a trip in late Aug 2005. We live in Moncton and have played every angle you can imagine to find the cheapest flight. We've considered driving to Boston, but my 3 DS are not the greatest travellers so...then a flight right out of Moncton sounds soooo good too!! If I see anything worthwhile I'll let you know!

We are flying Continental out of Halifax during March Break (Mar 11-19) 4 tickets were $1390.00 Cdn. Good luck in your search.

Does anyone know some details re: airline employee discounts for "friends & family" for AC, westjet or Canjet?

I'd be curious what comes up best in your areas because my daughter lives in Oromocto and will be trying to find flights for December 2005. Never too soon to start doing research!
