I'm wondering if I have any hope of getting a Fastpass for Flights of Passage or if I should just accept the reality now? We're staying on-site, but we're arriving in the middle of the week so I suspect those arriving at the beginning of the week will have already claimed all the fastpasses. Right? Is it better to get a parkhopper ticket so we can rope drop it on an EMH morning?

There's always thousands of people arriving before you, day of week has no bearing. The best method to secure FOP FPs is to book a long onsite stay, then attempt to get them on the last days of your trip. Most everyone else has to rely on luck.

How many days long is your trip? It's not the day you arrive, but the length of your trip that matters.

Park hopper is pretty expensive just to save yourself an hour or so in line, but wait until you book your FP and see how it goes before you make that decision.

I think it varies quite a bit. Most people will tell you to try to schedule a FP+ at 7:00 a.m. at your 60 day mark and try to schedule it for a day late in your trip. I am going on August 13 and scheduled 60 days out for August 15 and had no problem getting it. Also be sure to re-check the app leading up to your trip just in case someone cancels a FP+

I just did mine this past Sunday, with an onsite stay so at 60 days. I could not get one at all for our first day, but I had no problem getting one for our 3rd day.

Haha, sounds like you're saying I need to put on my big girl panties and accept that flights of passage will not be in the stars for us this trip :). We're only there 4 days; one day per park. AK was going to be day 1 for us.

As soon as your 60 day mark hits and you are able to make your FP+ selections, go on and see if any FP for FOP are available on the very last day of your trip. That would be your best bet.
If not, rope drop it for the shortest line (meaning be there 1 hour or so before official park open time).

Yeah, day 1 is about 99.9% impossible. But that means you have a .1% chance of getting a FP

Bottom line though, day of week has NO bearing, length of trip is all that matters. 3 days, almost no chance. 4+ a good chance but only if your AK day is day 4+

Maybe you can switch your days. We were able to get FOP and change the time 2 days later. We are staying for 10 days but AK was on our day 2 and day 5. I bet you will be able to get it.

For what it's worth, I checked for someone else earlier this morning, no FoP FP left at all, for the next 60 days, for 1, by 9:00 AM. Not at any time of day.

My AK days are day 2, day 3, day 6 and day 7 of our 9-day trip. We have park hoppers. When I booked at 60 days out right at the 7 am dot, only Na'vi River FPs were available for Day 2 while Day 3 only had FoP FP in late afternoon. We will still try to ride FoP standby to experience the full queue at RD during AM EMH. Just wish PM EMH would extend to the rest of August.

I'm arriving on a Tuesday in August and got a FOP FP for 3:20 on day 3 (Thursday)

A lot depends on the size of your party. 5 is harder to get than 4, which is harder to get than 3.

I got five 45 days out. It was during what that appears to be a slow week, though.

If you can't get for your whole party size, try a smaller group and then try again.

Thanks a lot for all the input everyone! I guess I'll wait and see what happens, but I won't hold my breath. If we go to AK an hour early and rope-drop, will that be good enough to keep the wait under an hour?

We had a 3 night stay at the end of June. Arriving day 1 around noon, so 1/2 day at one park, full day at another park, full day at another park, leaving morning of 4th day.

I booked FP 60 days out for NRJ on our 2d day there, no problem. There were also FP available for FoP, but with the tier system, I thought we had a better chance of getting on quicker by being there when the park opened that day, and pulling our FP for NRJ.

I just booked my trip today (at 55 days prior to check in) for 9/5-9/13, Tuesday to Tuesday, and I had no problem finding a FOP fast pass for the first day I looked for, for our party of 3, at 5:45 PM. If you can't get one for the day you want, try a different day of your trip. If you still can't find one, keep looking, people change their plans continually, up to and including the day of.

How early did you arrive? How long was your wait for flight of passage? Was it a morning EMH day?

It was not an morning EMH day. We caught the bus at All Star Music at 6:51 am. Park opening that day was 8:00. We arrived at 6:59. As we got to the gate (7:12) they were just opening. We walked to the bridge and were stopped there until 7:21. Then we moved to the entrance to Pandora and held until 7:38. Went immediately to FoP and through the stand by line. Arrived in the Lab (where we merged with FP line) 7:55. Sorted into our rooms and standing on our numbers at 7:59. Off the ride at 8:15.

Thank you so much! I think I have a new Plan B :)
