Flights May 2009 seem cheap!

Just wondering how much people paid for their May 2008 flights. Have just checked Virgin for next year going for 2 weeks on 15th May (incorporates 1 week of school holiday) and for 3 of us (2 adults and 1 child) they are £1084. Miles plus money flights are £500 each! Does this seem cheap? We are planning a May trip but have already booked our December 2008 trip and weren't planning on booking the May one till we get back. However at these prices, might be worth booking now.

Virgin flights dropped quite a bit in price yesterday, quite a few people are grabbing them while they are such a good price.
Sadly my LA flights for next september ain't on sale yet, typical
