Flights just been cancelled - UPDATED

Just received the post to find a letter from Airtours or Thomas Cook or whoever they are now?

Our flights have been cancelled. They have changed them for us to 3 days earlier. Now changing them a day either way I could understand, but three days to me seems a bit much.

I now have to try and find alternative flights, which are probably more expensive now, or change the resort bookings.

AAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

I am not a happy bunny.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to which would be easier to do? Change the flights to another company, or resorts??

Well it all depends on availability and charges. Can you change your accomodation for free? Who did you book your hotel through? When are you planning on going? You never know you may get some cheaper flights. I would see what the price difference in changing either flights or hotel dates.

We booked direct with WDW Travel, and I haven't spoken to them yet to see whether the bookings (there are 3 as we want to try different resorts) can be changed and how much it will cost.

We were planning to travel on 8 July for 14 nights.

I have done a few searches for different flights - all are at least £400 more and the only company that have anything available for 8 July is Virgin - so far.

The only problem is with it being 3 days earlier that we would be arriving on 5 July, the day after Independence Day, so my gut feeling is that the resorts will be quite full, and more expensive as I think this is classed as peak time?

Can't even speak to DH at the moment as he works nights and is in bed!!!

Does anyone know where I could possibly find cheap flights????

BA have flights available on 8th July....approx £1950 for 3 adult tickets.

Is it London or Manchester you want?

I have a limit £550 for an economy flight in school hols. Prices for dates you want are crazy, its not even school hols is it?

My choice would be BMI from Man via chicago, done their route a few times and its better than BA and Virgin. £473 each.

Wayne's price is pretty good, even for an indirect in July from Man.
Scottish school hols and within striking distance.

Best direct price seems to be coming in around £527 from Man with Continental.
I'd go for the direct for the small difference.

London seems to be horrendously expensive for some reason, even with continental about £1950 as Richard says (£646 with virgin)

sorry didn't see the direct for £527. I always say direct is worth an extra £100 each but I would not know which to choose here as we really like BMI.

Just to let you know that we have changed dates at the resorts, which was no problem and the kind people at WDW Travel waived the amendment fee as well.

However, the actual holiday plans have now changed, and so that we can take advantage of DDP, we have booked 11 nightst at POR with DDP and the 14 day ultimate tickets, and 3 nights at AKL without DDP.

Really need to make our ADR's now and that is today's job.

I can never get my head around how people can plan months in advance a time they want to eat and where. Sometimes we eat at 5pm other times its 10pm. Might just want a sandwich and not a full meal.

Just hope there isn't too much changes to our Mytravel flight!

I phoned the company I booked the flights with and they say it should only depart about 15 mins later, but i'll wait until I get my new Thomas Cook flight numbers before I go ahead and book my 'night before' hotel and the airport transfers!

Will be just our luck that our flight gets changed by a few days!

Where are you flying from? I fly on 7th as well
