Evening All!,

I am looking at options for our flights next year, and am hoping that someone (wayneg???) might be able to help me out with options.

My local airport is Birmingham. I will be travelling with my 3 DDs on 29th July (ages 12,10 & 7) and would ideally want to go into MCO, then DH is going to travel on 3rd August. Now we need our flights to be less than £550 each, so was hoping that you guys would be able to give me the wealth of your experience with regards to routes?. Could Me and Girls fly form BHX and DH fly from MAN, but all fly back to MAN?,

I would prefer a direct flight for me and the girls, but would consider indirect if there is an easy airport to navigate? (please remember I am one of those females who have no senses of direction :))

Also, I know I can't book flights until 330 days out, but is this definitely the cheapest time to book?

If anyone has already done this previously, please throw your twopenneth in.

Thank you

Birmingham is really close to me too but I wanted to fly direct to MCO, so my options were limited. We decided to fly from Manchester with Virgin - it worked out cheaper then flying from Brum.

Hi Ali.
Nothing to stop you doing any airport combination you want but you need to see what the prices are like for your dates when released. You need to search on somthing like Kayaks Multicity search engine, you can enter any airports you want on there. http://www.kayak.co.uk/flights?mc=y

330 days out is more than likely going to be an expensive time to book, last few years I have booked between Nov and Feb for August to get the best prices. Prices as far out as Sept (11 months) have been too expensive.

£550 for direct, can't see you doing it unless there is an error on a website, you definitely can't do direct from BHX unless its a charter flight, then you can't return to MAN, you have to return to the same airport you started from and fixed to 7,14 or 21 days. Scheduled are more flexible. Still can't see you finding a charter flight in August for under £550, you are looking at nearer £650-700 at that time of year. Your best chance would be indirect, even then unless there are some offers £550 might be a struggle but its far too early to know yet.
Just keep watching the forums for any deals people find. Good luck.

Thanks, guys.

Wayneg do you really think we couldn't do flights for that price at all?, We paid £600 each in 2010 with BA, but that included the Car Hire for 3 weeks, so thought that £550 ea was fairly reasonable, but obviously on the budget end. :worried:

Would I be right in thinking that the London airports would be the cheapest?, we would be hoping to fly back on around 25th August, meaning my total would be 27 days, would this exclude charters for us?

May have to look at our villa options to see if we can cut our cloth a bit more.

Unfortunately flight prices have increased significantly in the past 2 years. Just do a search for those dates this year:
Aug 3rd-27th MAN-MCO direct £875

Jul 29th -Aug 27th BHX-MCO-MAN £801

There have been some better prices than this but not many, you just need to have the money ready and book as soon as you are happy with a price.

Wayne's right - you won't get flights for that price in the school holidays.

In July, indirect will come in at around that much, if not more, especially from Birmingham.

BHX is my nearest airport too but getting to mco indirect from here is really limited, Aer Lingus to Dublin then MCO is a good option but at that time of year it'd probably be as expensive as direct from MAN or LGW.
