Flights from Ireland

Can anyone out there help me with finding flights from Belfast, Dublin or anywhere in Ireland? A few months ago I checked flights flying from Dublin with aer lingus for Dh, myself, DS 6, DD 2. The total fare worked out at £1100 which I thought was amazing!! I have now just re-checked aer lingus website and it says that flights to Orlando are stopping from Jan 2006. Does anyone know do they plan on replacing it with something else or do we have to now go through London? Can anyon advise on cheapest way to book flights either from Ireland or from London?

Aer Lingus are currently in dispute with the cabin staff used on the Orlando flight and they have said that the service will end in January but there has been no "final" decision made.

I checked out a lot of options from Belfast and Dublin as follows :

Belfast - Continental via Newark is the only scheduled service. Mytravel and First Choice offer charter flights from May onwards.

Dublin - Aer Lingus possibly the only direct scheduled service. Continental / Delta and American offer scheduled services via Newark / Chicago etc. Budget Travel and My Travel seem to be the only charter service.

Via London there is obviously a lot more choice of both scheduled and charter flights. We have booked via Virgin who are currently offering a £10 Belfast-Gatwick fare for next year with FlyBe.

try British Airways from Dublin. We are going with them this year and for 4 flights (Dublin/Gatwick/Orlando) it cost £1340 (end of June). Phone BA direct as when I booked these last August local travel agents were no help at all. I'm not sure whether they fly in January or not. By the way have you noticed the price of Mytravel flights from Belfast at the moment - really good if you could go at short notice - they were £169 for 10th June fly drive. I think people here are getting fed up with their escalated prices and are flying Easyjet to Gatwick and Travel City to Orlando.

when we were at sanford airport thursday, there was a flight going to dublin, I think it was mytravel or monarch, good luck with finding something!

Hi Nicola

We are flying from Dublin with Continental Newark / MCO 2 adults and 2 children at the end of July and we are paying €2,880 which is approx £1,870. This is a scheduled flight (we needed one as we are staying for 26 nights) and the advantage of that is that we clear immigration in Dublin before we fly.The other scheduled airlines from Dublin are Aer-Lingus, Delta and American Airlines.

Budget travel are advertising some good fares at the moment at approx £1,200 for 4 and they operate a charter into Sanford. The Aer-Lingus direct flight was great but so far it is not due to fly past Jan 2006

The BA fares look good but the downside of flying to the UK first is that on the way home you have the "red eye" flight from Orlando then when you are fit to drop you have to hang around to get another flight back here and then drive home. We did this once and it was a nightmare with the kids.
