Well Air Canada just jacked up rates for Aug 17-27. I went on travelocity and found cheap flights with decent times with Delta. Should I try Delta?? Is 45 minutes enough to switch planes in Detroit? I am super nervous any advice would be great!!! Thanks!

We have used Delta many times to MCO and Detriot's easy to get around 45min is plenty of time. This year we used Continental Airlines it was $307 round trip to Orlando from Halifax almost $200 less per person for us. We have been going in Aug-Sept for 3 years now and are booked Sept 15-27 this year, I checked this week for a coworker and the rate was the same. Start on this link and you will find the Halifax airlines.

I flew through Detroit on my trip before this one out of Halifax but on American Airlines. I am not sure about the layover but since you are flying directly into the states you can clear customs in Halifax which is a bonus!

I know when I traveled through Detroit I had to change terminals, but that just meant taking a moving sidewalk under the two terminals, took maybe 5-10 minutes.

That is great to know. I was worried about time to get around and catch a flight. Do you pay at the check in counter for the baggage?

Yes you can pay at the counter for your luggage but if you plan to check in online you can get a bit of a discount if you pay at that time. I think it is $25 per bag each way at the counter and $23 if you pay online.

look to see if you can book directly with Delta. We used travelocity our first trip booked one stop from Halifax at time that we liked and our flight times kept getting changed. At one point the had doing a 2 stop through Atlanta with less than hour (I think it was 20 minutes) layover. Each time we had to call travelocity and they would call the airline it was awful. We were on the phone for 40+ minutes each time.

I don't use travelocity or expedia for air now. I check prices with Kayak.com and book direct from the airline.
