I keep checking flight prices for next year and they have been coming up at nearly £1k for indirect flights! We are pretty tied with our dates and we are flying in and out of the UK on Saturdays to maximise the time off work. We are planning on flying to New York and spending 4 nights there before heading down to Florida. So the flights end up being indirect on the return journey but direct to New York and then direct to MCO. I've checked today and they have come down to £814 each which I still think is extortionate but I'm wavering over booking as they have been so high. Realistically do you think I can expect them to come down much further?

Ill be honest I would not pay £814 for indirect flights even in August, we now go most years in August due to DD and school holidays and have never paid that much for direct flights.. Id keep looking and hold a while if it is indirect you want due to NYC stay..

I thought it was a bit much. Thanks for keeping me grounded. I will wait it out

What airport in the UK are you looking to fly from?

As a guide we have paid under £1300 per person for PE on VA LHR-EWR (Newark) and returning MCO-LGW in August next year. I will book internals on JetBlue once they open up but I don't expect them to be more than $140 each.

We like to maximise our time there so will pay a bit extra for the return being direct.

Manchester. I never thought of booking the internal US flight separately. At the minute the cross Atlantic flights are coming in at more than the full trip but I will keep checking both

I'm in Canada but are meeting up with friends from the UK who are doing the same sort of trip. They travel out of London to JFK on Virgin Aug 1st and then Aug 5th fly to MCO with Delta, Flying home from MCO on August 16. They paid less that $1000 per person for all flights. Booked last week through a travel agent so they only had to pay deposit now and balance later.

They also booked car rental in Orlando and hotels in NYC at the same time, we are staying in a villa during the Orlando part.

Good luck.

The other option they looked at was Norwegian Air but even though at first look it was cheaper you had to buy all your food and drink on board.

Happy hunting:surfweb:

Yeah the flights I found were with delta and the return was delta and Virgin via Atlanta for £814 per person. Last year our flights cost less than £500 but I can't get anywhere near that at the minute
