Flightcentre Vouchers

Don't get me started on my experience with Flightcentre, but finally my agent said that my 4 x $20 vouchers were ready to collect. Once received, I noticed that they were only to be used for domestic bookings and were valid for 6 months!

I thought that I had read here that people had used them to purchase accommodation overseas and for Disney tickets! On the website it states that they are valid for 12 months and does not say anything about only valid for domestic bookings. Have they changed the playing field?

Feel your pain.... that's why I AVOID flight centre like a level 10 crowd day at magic Kingdom during spring break.....

Kangarucci, I used the flight centre vouchers to pay for travel insurance, accomodation overseas etc, but they are tightening it every year it seems. Last I checked you can't use it for anything that is related to the same trip. Whats the point then?!?!?!?

I think it also depends on who the consultant is. Some are very helpful and offer ways in which to get around certain terms and conditions. Others just say "no, you can't do that" and leave it at that. It's extremely variable.

Last year we had to change our flights and the consultant said that it would be $100 to alter our dates. That's fine, we said yes. Over that weekend we booked up accommodation and theatre tickets. On the Monday we get a call saying that actually, they made a mistake and it's $600 to change and we have to come down and pay!! Personally, I think FC should have covered that since we were quoted $100 each originally. Anyway, we paid through the nose (we would have kept our original dates if we were told it was going to be that expensive).

Last week I was lucky to have flight centre price match a flight after I had booked it that day. I went home and found the same fare cheaper on the carrier's website. I called them and they beat the price by $1, as they do. I think I just got a nice consultant.

Some are thorough and some are just hopeless. If you find a good consultant, make sure you stick with them!! I've been told several contradictory things by several FC consultants that I no longer quite know who to trust sometimes.

Exactly!!! How disappointing that they are making it less and less worthwhile.

I just went and looked at my voucher and it also says $20 flight voucher to be used on a domestic booking if thats the case then i will be getting the rest of our passes online with Expedia there is no point me going in there if i cant use the voucher on anything.
Also i signed my son up for the $50 birthday voucher and when that came it says for your next booking over $1500.

for ours, i am just going to give them to my parents who are going away at xmas time to either sydney or melbourne, as they have been caring for my grandmother who suffers from alzheimers and they need a break. i know $40 isn't much, but at least they can benefit from it... we're also giving them our FF points towards their hotel stay/flights so that they can enjoy the holiday at a relatively low cost

With all the problems that I have had with FC it would have to be a fantastic deal to book with them again. Customer service has been very poor.

I just spoke to the flight centre TA i have been speaking with and she just told me i can use the vouchers for anything except a product that they are price matching
