Flight to Ft Myers, FL arriving Fri 6pm????

My co-worker was planning to fly out of Boston Friday about 3:15pm (non-stop Delta) into Ft Myers ---arriving around 6pm. We are gently trying to talk her out of it. She visiting her mom for the holiday weekend --- scheduled to fly home Monday.

Her mom keeps saying as long as her flight can make it in...she has nothing to worry about once she arrives.

Our question: Since I just read that Orlando won't be accepting any more flights past noon on Friday....what do you think are the odds that Ft Myers airport will still be open around 6pm Friday?

Would hate to have her flight leave Boston...only to find out mid flight that she has to land somewhere else (Atlanta let's say)...and get stuck spending her weekend alone in a airport. (Something she doesn't want to happen either.)

We really don't even want her to go. Any advice so we can convince her.

Oops, sorry....should have said I saw that too.
Been showing her all the great weather links being posted here by Floridians. I think she's a bit worried of getting stuck somewhere....but she's listening to her mom also.
