Hi all!

We're flying into Disney through Airtran on December 25th. We'll be taking ME to our resort, POFQ. We have afternoon tea set for 2:10 pm that day. It wasn't an issue before, since we were supposed to land at 9am, but now our arrival time has been pushed back to 11am. Do I need to try to get a later reservation for the tea, or is three hours long enough to go from the airport to POFQ to the tea?

Thanks for your help!

Hello
Think this has a lot to do with how you feel with additional stress if
plane is late??
airport filled with holiday travelers??
Packed at ME Lines??
rushing...with kids?

If you're a fly by the seat of your pants person, calm and no big deal or if any of these scenarios wouldn't faze you, I'd say go for it.
My only experience with Dec arrival was earlier in month , and went to por the sister resort, went quickly.
Thinking about it more now, I'd think most people are where they'd want to be on Xmas day, already, so maybe it won't be so packed at airport after all! That'd be great.
Our experience with Trip on ME to resort is about 1-1/12 hours. If that is reasonable to you and you have what you need with you (in way of clothes/items), then you should be okay.
Good Luck and have a VERY MAGICAL TIME whatever you decide!

No freaking way I'd take the chance. They only hold those reservations for ten minutes, and there is always a standby line.

From the time your plane opens the door at the gate until you get off and get to the DME check-in point is usually 15-25 minutes unless you have a front row seat, can really move and get the monorail just right, then it could be as few as five minutes. I certainly wouldn't count on that.

Then you check in at DME and baord the bus. That could take as few as five minutes, or as long as 20.

Then you might have to wait on the bus for up to 20 minutes or so.

From there it's a 30-75 minute ride from the airport to your resort, depending on how many stops are made before arriving at your resort and traffic conditions.

Then it's 5-45 minutes to check-in, depending on lines and if your reservation is in order, etc.

Then it's a 15-20 minute bus ride to the MK. That's if a bus is pulling up as you get to the stop, and how many more stops it makes along the way. You could ahve to wait as long as 30 minutes for a bus that time of the day.

Then you need to walk to the monorail and get on the monorail and take that to the GF. That's another 20 minutes if you don't need to wait for a train.

Of course for about $15 you could take a cab from PO to the GF, saving some time. That's about 15 minutes.

OK, so if everything goes absolutely perfectly you *could* be there in a bit over an hour. The chances of that happening are slim to none. Frankly if someone was waiting at arrivals with a car for you and you ahd no luggage and you went straight to the GF, it would probably take almost an hour from the time you got off the plane until you got to the GF.

Being realistic without going overboard, I think you're looking at 2 1/2 to 3 hours from the time your plane lands until you get to the GF, again cutting off a bit of that if you take a cab from PO to the GF. I wouldn't want to take the cance. I'd move the tea back to a later seating.

I would try to reschedule for another day. You never know about plane delays, you can't assume it will be on time. If you have a 2 or 3 hour delay, you're sunk.
