Just been looking to see what the prices are for scheduled flights for next Easter. Shocked to see how much more expensive they are than the past few years. Almost twice as expensive as this year.

Anyone else finding that too? Anyone found any bargains?

There are 3 of us (DH, DS aged 17 & me) and we have always flown indirect in the past - usually with US Airways.

We got our flights for 2500 for 5 of us it was more expensive than our last trip as we flew with Britannia.

I agree Julie, they have really gone up. I have found booking as early as I can to go (in school hols!) saves me the most. I've not got the nerves of steel needed to wait and possibly snag a last minute bargain!

Hi, i'm glad it's not just me then!I was truly shocked at the hike this year.I'm trying to get flights to california for next august, the only half palatable prices are with airlines ,that are not my first choice, almost the prices of package deals on their own.Does anyone think they may go down?

The main problem is the high proce opf poil, which may dp a bit before then, but probablty not enough to make much dfferences. Booking with the US airlines may be a better choice due to the strong pound.

If you leave it until only a few months before you fly and there is a lot of capacity they may cut costs, but then again they may cut flights, its a risk.

We have just booked flights for next easter, we fly from heathrow to washington and then from washington on to orlando, i think its with united airlines (not sure friend has kept all paperwork) its our first visit so dont have anything to compare with but against other quotes we had i think we got a good deal.

I really wouldn't risk waiting to book flights for Easter. This is now the most popular time of all for families looking to go to Florida because its a nice convenient 2 week break from school and there's no hurricanes at that time of year.

I'm working for a US tour operator in Dublin at the moment and we book people on scheduled flights through the likes of Atlanta, Newark, Chicago etc it's already becoming a nightmare trying to get availability on both the international flights and the connecting flights within the USA. The fuel surcharges keep going up all the time and I don't see prices coming down for that period at all.

Over the years I've seen a lot of disappointed customers not be able to get that time of year because they didn't book early enough.
