Hi,

I know this can happen, but I just wanted to rant....

The dates we want to travel next Spring, have us leaving Orlando 5th April (arriving in the UK on 6th). Virgin prices are now out up to the 4th April, and the price jumps £250 per person when you move the return flight from one day to the next.

Absolutely gutted.

Just a little FYI that is spring break times for the college kids and spring vacation for the schools in those times.... usually the month of April is hard on the wallet.

Its common on the Virgin site if you search as far out as possible, The last day of return(sometimes 2 or 3 days) will show a higher rate.
I would expect them to level out after a few days but with it being Easter week no guarantees, check back again tomorrow and see what they are.

Keep checking and do a fare notification on Tripadvisor.

I did this recently and on Sunday I had a notification of a low price, checked and then booked a Virign flight Manchester to Orlando, for the same price as a Monarch flight - which was the cheapest direct flight I had found.

Checked last night, it had gone up £200, checked tonight, gone up by £600 - no rhyme or reason!

We often add or remove a day or two from our olds to save hundreds in flights. Look at it as a bargain ;)

Check now, returning 4th has dropped to same as the rest, when 5th is released today (10am?) it should show £200-£250 more than todays, then tomorrow drop, unless its a peak day for travel then it could stay higher.

Thank you for all your replies. Although I am not sure it was the most logical thing to do, we have now changed our dates slightly and booked our flights. Although we probably could have stayed as we were, now the flights have come back down in price, our new dates are just as good so I'm going to stop thinking about it and looking at it now, wondering what could have been etc.

I honestly felt, and actually still feel, so stressed about all this. I think it is because we are booking for another family as well, so the pressure is really on.

I now need to chill out, be happy with what we've booked and just look forward to the holiday!

Thanks again
Rachel
