We are looking to cruise out of New York in October and were wondering if a 12:00 (noon) departure from JFK post cruise would be pushing it too much? I'm thinking yes, but looking for thoughts! Thank you!

That would be too tight for me personally, because I feel like it would require everything to work perfectly....it could be fine, but all it needs is one disabled vehicle somewhere to throw off the entire traffic.

For me that would be a little tight. If it’s a weekday you will be dealing with rush hour traffic. If it’s a weekend, there are always parades and other events blocking traffic. Have you looked at flying out of Newark, that might be a better commute because you are right by the Lincoln tunnel.

I would do it but I also don't like getting to the airport extremely early lol. Also check LGA and EWR too, they're both closer than JFK from the terminal.

Car service to the train the swift train trip to EWR but no. noon is way too close. Airport security is awful in JFK. That can be an hour on a medium day.

The only way I would chance it is if you plan on doing walk off with your own bags as soon as they open that up. And then I'd definitely book a car service in advance. We've sailed out of NYC several times and while we usually get a car service you often have to walk past the cab line to meet them as they balk at driving directly up to the port  . It varies how crazy the cab line is - probably depends on how many ships are disembarking that day - but we've seen it very long and chaotic. The one time we used it we got one in about 10 minutes, though. But I would not count on that.

And I second the suggestion to check other airports other than JFK. We've never flown into LGA, but a couple of times we have booked park / stay / cruise packages at the hotels around EWR. It's a pretty easy drive back to that area from the cruise terminal. The one time we flew out of JFK traffic was horrendous.
