So I am planning our flights out of Copenhagen after our EBTA next May. We overnight in Copenhagen on May 27 on the ship. Would we be able to disembark early and make an 8am flight on May 28 or will we have to wait for the 2pm flight? Thanks in advance :)

8 am is not possible at all.

Port is to the North of the city, even if embarkation started at 7 am, it's then 45 minutes at least by direct taxi to the airport, with is to the sout east of the city, and directly going through the city, maybe at rush hour if a weekday, there you will require between two and four hours check in.

So take it easy book the 2 pm, otherwise you will be clock watching. I have been on DCL cruises that have arrived past there advertised arrival time.

I think normally disembarkation will start circa 7.30 am, again reinforcing that 8 am is completely impossible.

So you can't disembark early? Seems like there were no customs to go through last year when we disembarked in Copenhagen.

Not that early, even if say the ship came in at 5 am, it's a mad dash....

There is a risk of it coming in late.

Even if no customs in Copenhagen, now all inside European cruises may not have customs, a EBTA could do so, what about:-
Getting/ taking luggage off ship.
Taxi transfer.
Check in.
Airport security.
Airport border control.
Going to the gate and flight.

8 am is not possible, and even if tried, will give your party a challenge to do, at the end of a vacation, that really is not feasible . This far out airlines can adjust thier flight times by say up to an hour, and it not constitute a matieral change. So no compensation. A 2 pm could only adjust to 1 pm.

I see what you are saying - since you are overnighting and you'll already be in Copenhagen the night before. That's a great questions so I'd call and ask DCL. When we overnighted in Reykjavik we were able to come and go as we pleased all night however not sure many people were trying to officially disembark at that point.

Yes. We did the EBTA last year but our flight was after 1pm. We have the option of the 8 am this year. The ship gets into Copenhagen May 27 8am. The flight is May 28 8am. I will take your advice and call DCL. Hopefully they give me correct info :)

We have overnighted in our final city on several cruises (Barcelona and Copenhagen). You will be able to leave the ship anytime after the ship has cleared customs (the day you arrive into Copenhagen). It is only if you plan to have DCL put your luggage in the terminal for pick up that you have to mind the times that Disney will have for disembarkation day. So if you want to leave very early morning to get that 8am flight, you certainly will be able to walk off on your schedule. It's just going to be a very early day for your family.

Thank you :) We are early morning people so won't be a problem. That way we can get a start on the next part of our voyage.

Honestly, I would take the 2pm. The airport in Copenhagen was a bit confusing when we first got there and there were long lines everywhere. You have to hit a few stops even before security. 2pm would be a comfortable experience. Like someone said, the airport is a bit of a drive too. Assuming you could carry your luggage off at any time of night, I would say you would want to leave the ship NLT 4am for the trip, check in, security, etc. I seen several people have problems with the passport check-in and security and ended up taking a lot longer getting to the secure area.

Where are you flying to from Copenhagen? If within the Schengen area, then getting to the airport by 6 am or even 6:30 am will give you plenty of time with no problem. At that time of the day, traffic should not be a problem also. If it is a flight to the USA, the I would advise to arrive three hours before your flight time.

We flew out of Copenhagen twice last year (once to Paris and once to Reykjavik) and had no problems. We flew through security and then had to sit forever until our gate even was announced. Next year we would be flying to Reykjavik again and the 8am would be the same flight we took last year. I know the airport, have traveled between it and the port, know what to expect, just trying to figure out if I would be allowed off the ship that early :) Thanks for all of your input.
