Flight of Passage - No FP+

Our experience with the FP line was that it was a walk on. At no time did it slow down to a stop. We just strolled in, past ten thousand people waiting in the standby line.

Thinking about doing FOP late one evening during our stay next week. AK closes at 8:00 PM when we are there. How late can we enter AK with our Park Hoppers prior to the 8 PM close? Can we enter the line for FOP up until park close even if the wait is 90 minutes or longer? Will the resort buses still be running when we exit after riding?

Apparently you can get in line no problem until basically 7:59 PM no matter how long the line is. Also important, Disney is famous for inflating wait times near closing time....so if the stand by line says 180 it could easily be under an hour.

About the buses....they usually ride quite late. Or you could always Uber it.

I snagged a FP for 2 people yesterday around 1:00 for 2:05pm. Just kept rechecking.

You can enter the park right up until closing time, but give yourself enough time to make it over to the attraction. They will let you in line anytime before 8 pm and you will be allowed to ride no matter how long the line is. That being said, the wait times in the evening are intentionally exaggerated so you can expect your actual wait to be much shorter than the posted wait time.

Transportation will be available until the last guest leaves the park.

I was unable to book a FP+ at 60 days in mid Jan for Flight of Passage.
Just wondering if we could get on if we went there right at rope drop during the morning magic hour?
Should I expect to be waiting a long time still?
Thanks

Did this yesterday following the Touring Plans Suggestions:

Animal Kingdom technically opened at 9am. Got the bus from Beach Club about 7:30am. Got to Animal Kingdom about 7:40am and got through security. They let us in about 8:05am. Rode FOP (incredible) and was walking off at 9:10am.

Definitely worth getting there early. As I left, the line ended at the bridge entering Pandora.

Your wait time will be much lower at park close. If you arrive 90 minutes before the park opens, that time counts toward your total wait time.

It does of course count toward your total wait time, but not your total wait time DURING PARK HOURS. We have always preferred to wait longer before the park opens in order to save actual park time. It's generally a much easier wait, because it's generally not hot yet, and we would rather skip a proper breakfast and eat something portable in line and sip some coffee. We actually have a pretty good time waiting for busses and rope drop, lol.

Exactly. Spent as long in line as anyone else, but had a full day to see the rest of the park.

Not sure if this is helpful, but yesterday I booked FPs for Flight of Passage on January 17 and 20 (group of 4). There was a variety of times available each day

Getting in line at the end of the day also takes up no park time. The biggest difference is that the wait can be considerably shorter in the evening.

Bingo - take up even less park time and spend considerably less time waiting.

A same day FP+ for FoP is possible. I got one yesterday after refreshing a bunch of times during lunch. And then I got a FP+ for Navi about an hour later.

We couldn't get a FP for FoP the day we are going during Christmas break, but we are staying in Fort Wilderness and AK has EMH that day 8-9am.

Any recommendations for what time to arrive for 8am EMH entry? Should we still try to get there an hour early (7am)?

Also, do they have separate waiting area for EMH access versus folks waiting for regular hours rope drop?
