So I do ok on Soarin', EE, ToT... anyone with motion sickness ride Flight of Passage yet? Does it really move you around a lot? I know there is a 3-D element to it as well, which I don't know if that helps or not. TIA! :thumbsup2

If you are fine with the attractions you listed, you should be ok with FoP. The only ride I have a trouble with is Mission Space Orange Side, and FoP isn't as intense as that. I compare it to Soarin and Star Tours.

I heard from the lady from WDW prep school (the blog)/WDW prep to go (the podcast) is that if you sit in the middle, you'll decrease your motion sickness. I think she discusses it in one of her recent podcasts (one of the last 4 - the ones titled may trip). The recent podcasts are very short in case you need to listen to more than 1. I like how she gets to the point and she explains things well.

I can ride Star Tours fine, but I can't ride Soarin' any more. Anything with a long swooping glide makes me dizzy and slightly nauseous. Even that tiny bit in Ellen can do it. I'm really afraid of trying FOP for that reason. It's never been bad enough to ruin the rest of the day, it's just makes the ride less enjoyable. I don't know the ride vehicle will make a difference. And I definitely wouldn't try it right after I eat. But I'd hate to take a seat from someone who would love it, if it makes me sick.

The long swooping glides make me sick, too. I have to close my eyes at the Ellen part that you mention. I can do Soarin' after I've eaten and usually only close my eyes at the worst parts. I did FOP and there are lots of long swooping glides. I didn't close my eyes because I was determined to see it all. But I did feel very shaky when it was over. Other people I talked to said that they closed their eyes during the swooping parts and felt fine. I am determined to try this ride again because it is so amazing, but I am going to ask to sit in the middle this time instead of at the very end. And I won't hesitate to close my eyes this time. And I will take some Dramamine first because I want to pay it safe.

I was wondering about this too. I love Soarin' but I can't do Star Tours anymore. Is the motion of FoP more like either of these rides?

Same here for my DD, she can't do Star Tours. So I'm wondering the same..... She doesn't want to chance feeling sick all day if she rides FoP. Maybe if we rode at the end of the day?

I do Star tours but have to keep my eyes closed most of the time. I think I closed them for a brief second on fop, but never felt sick.

Good to know, I have a DD who is prone to some motion sickness. Maybe we can request to be seated in the middle when we're boarding?

I disagree, the motion is much more intense than Soarin. After my first FoP I picked up some dramimine before my next flight. If you are prone, dose up first.

Did the dramimine help? I'm thinking of giving DD some before she rides this ride.

I'm fine on Soaring, can't do Star Tours, know better than to even attempt Mission Space and on FOP I felt like it went on about a minute to long. I was ok up until the end. The last couple of swoops got to me. Didn't make me queasy sick, just off. If the line was such that my family wanted to go on again I'd of sat out. I think I could do that ride once a trip and that would be enough. But it was awesome!

edit to add, I sat in the middle too :-(

You don't move around THAT much on FoP. It's not like you're getting whipped around.

It's very smooth and the screen is a lot more fluid than Soarin. Also, with FoP, you're seating doesn't really affect the screen.

If you're prone to motion sickness, I'd say majority would say Star Tours is more "intense" in that category
